EarFun Clip 2 Debuts: Clip-On Hi-Res Earbuds with Built-In AI Translation

EarFun is expanding its open-ear lineup with the new Clip 2 ear-clip earbuds, designed for people who want an airy, comfortable fit without giving up modern features. These open-ear earbuds focus on three big selling points: high-resolution audio support, a low-latency Bluetooth 6.0 connection, and built-in AI language translation for real-time conversations.

One of the standout additions is live translation for more than 100 languages. Translation can be triggered using a customizable shortcut, such as a tap or double-tap, which you set up in the EarFun app. When someone speaks, you hear the translated audio through the earbuds in real time. EarFun also says it limits cloud data collection by analyzing only what’s needed to make translation work, an important detail for users who care about privacy.

For sound, the Clip 2 uses a 12 mm dual-magnetic titanium driver in each earbud. It supports Hi-Res Audio playback via the Sony LDAC codec, giving compatible devices a higher-quality wireless listening option. EarFun also includes a quad-microphone ENC setup to help reduce background noise, improving call clarity and listening in noisier environments.

Battery life depends on whether you use LDAC. With LDAC enabled, you can expect up to six hours of playback, with a total of 22 hours when you include the charging case. With LDAC turned off, battery life jumps to up to 11 hours on the earbuds and up to 40 hours with the case. The ear-clips recharge in about one hour inside the case, and the case itself charges in around two hours using a USB-C 5V/1A power supply.

Beyond audio and translation, the Clip 2 comes packed with features aimed at everyday convenience: 3D surround sound, Google Fast Pair for quick Android pairing, LE Audio for low-latency performance, and multipoint connectivity so you can connect to two devices at once. It also carries an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, which helps for workouts and outdoor use.

In terms of size and weight, the earbuds and case are listed at 70 x 48.1 x 29.2 mm, with a total weight of 49.6 g.

EarFun plans to release the Clip 2 in March 2026, priced at $79.99.
