Sul Sul, fellow Simmers! It’s been a nostalgic ride exploring the timeless worlds of The Sims and The Sims 2 once more. We’re thrilled by your passion and excitement for these classics. However, we know that some of you have stumbled upon technical hiccups. Don’t worry, we’ve been hard at work addressing these challenges. Your detailed reports via our forums have been invaluable. Here’s a heartfelt thanks to our amazing community for helping us make these games even better.
Here’s what’s been updated in the latest patch from February 4, 2025:
For The Sims 1, we tackled a number of pesky issues:
– The game no longer decides to exit immediately after launch on some systems.
– Fixed several problems involving screen toggling and resolution changes.
– Clicking mysteries on the neighborhood map? That’s fixed too.
– We improved the stability of the game in various scenarios, such as certain interactions within neighborhoods leading to crashes.
We also included some general advice: for smoother gameplay, ensure that your graphics drivers are updated. Oh, and if you’re playing on multiple monitors, use the “monitor:” option to specify your display preference.
For The Sims 2, we’ve been busy:
– Alt-Tab issues causing crashes? Resolved!
– Fixed some annoying errors such as family creation crashes and resolution settings that went rogue.
– That tricky DirectX error should no longer rain on your parade.
Also, some disappearing Sims are now back for good! And if you’ve been hit by an infinite loading screen, that’s been sorted out.
Remember to keep those graphics drivers current for the best experience. And, for those dabbling with the “boolProp testingCheatsEnabled” cheat, know that those surprise boxes of debugging info are very much intentional. While we’re still investigating some issues like those pesky cinematic event glitches, be sure that our team is on it.
