Denza Z Electric Supercar Targets Europe With 1,582 PS, Ultra-Fast Charging, and Aggressive Pricing
The Denza Z is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about electric performance cars coming out of China. With extreme power, advanced chassis technology, and a pricing strategy designed to challenge established luxury sports car brands, this electric coupe is aiming far beyond its home market.
In China, the Denza Z starts at 680,000 yuan, which is roughly €88,000. That price makes it especially competitive considering the level of performance and technology included. The open-top Denza Z Cabrio is positioned higher at 780,000 yuan, or about €100,000, while the more extreme Denza Z Racing variant reaches 1.18 million yuan, approximately €152,000.
European buyers should expect a much higher entry price. The Denza Z is anticipated to start from at least around €160,000 in Europe, but even at that level, it could still offer strong value compared with high-performance electric sports cars and traditional supercars. Its combination of power, equipment, and cutting-edge engineering gives it a clear focus: delivering supercar-level performance without the usual supercar price gap.
The Denza Z has been developed under the design direction of Wolfgang Egger, with BYD using the model to demonstrate the depth of its electric vehicle technology. The car is built on the new e3 platform, which supports some of the brand’s most advanced systems.
One of the standout features is steer-by-wire technology. Instead of relying on a traditional mechanical steering column, the system uses electronic controls to deliver steering input. This can improve packaging, responsiveness, and driving precision, especially in a performance-focused electric car.
The Denza Z also features the adaptive DiSus-M suspension system. This setup uses magnetorheological damping, allowing the suspension to adjust within milliseconds. The result should be a car that can stay comfortable on the road while becoming much sharper and more controlled during spirited driving or track use.
Charging speed is another major highlight. The Denza Z uses a second-generation Blade Battery paired with an 800-volt electrical architecture. According to the available details, the battery can charge from 10 to 70 percent in just five minutes under ideal conditions. If achieved consistently in real-world use, this would make the Denza Z one of the fastest-charging electric performance cars available.
Performance is clearly central to the Denza Z’s identity. With output reaching up to 1,582 PS, the car is positioned as a serious electric supercar rather than just a stylish grand tourer. The upcoming Denza Z Racing version is expected to push the platform even further, with a stronger focus on track capability.
To prove its performance credentials, the Chinese electric supercar is scheduled to attempt a record run on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in autumn 2026. A strong lap time there would help establish the Denza Z as a legitimate rival to some of the world’s most respected performance machines.
With bold pricing, ultra-fast charging, advanced suspension, steer-by-wire technology, and enormous power, the Denza Z could become one of the most important electric sports cars to watch. If BYD can successfully bring this package to Europe with the right positioning, the Denza Z may quickly become a serious contender in the high-performance EV market.
