Sony has released its newest PlayStation Store download charts for Southeast Asia, offering a snapshot of what players across the region were downloading most throughout March 2026. The biggest headline: Crimson Desert surged to the number one spot on the PS5 Asia rankings, finishing the month as the top download.
The charts were published on April 5 as part of Sony’s Southeast Asia update for March activity. Although the post is regional, the rankings themselves are presented in two main columns—US/Canada and Asia—rather than a dedicated Southeast Asia-only list. Still, the Asia column provides a clear look at what was trending most strongly across the region.
Crimson Desert climbs to the top of the PS5 downloads in Asia
March saw Crimson Desert take first place on PS5 in Asia, pushing last month’s leader down a notch. Resident Evil Requiem finished second, while EA Sports FC 26 rounded out the top three—showing strong demand for both new releases and major annual sports titles.
The rest of the PS5 top 10 paints a vivid picture of varied player tastes in Asia. Co-op favorite It Takes Two continued to pull in downloads, while Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection made a strong showing. Sports and racing also remained reliable crowd-pleasers thanks to MLB The Show 26, NBA 2K26, and Gran Turismo 7. Two more notable names in the top 10 include Forza Horizon 5 and Resident Evil 3, underscoring how both established franchises and standout catalog titles can still dominate monthly charts.
This is also a clear shift from February’s results, where Resident Evil Requiem led the PS5 chart in Asia. In March, it stayed near the top, but Crimson Desert moved ahead following its release momentum.
PS4 downloads stay steady with Red Dead Redemption 2 in front
On PS4, Red Dead Redemption 2 held onto first place in Asia, continuing its long-running popularity and proving that big open-world adventures still have plenty of life on the previous-generation system.
March’s PS4 list also featured a familiar mix of action, open-world, and franchise staples. Marvel’s Spider-Man Game of the Year Edition landed in second, followed by Assassin’s Creed Unity, Watch Dogs 2, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition. The remainder of the top 10 included Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Resident Evil 6, Metal Slug 3, God of War Ragnarök, and EA Sports FC 26—an interesting blend of tough action RPG combat, classic arcade flair, and blockbuster modern releases.
Beat Saber leads PS VR2 downloads in Asia
Virtual reality players in Asia continued to gravitate toward one of the format’s most recognizable hits. Beat Saber claimed the top PS VR2 position in March, beating out Horizon Call of the Mountain in second place and Moss: Book II in third.
The rest of the PS VR2 top 10 kept the momentum going with a strong variety of action, adventure, and rhythm-driven experiences. Other titles in the list included Alien: Rogue Incursion VR, Hubris, Angry Birds VR: Isle of Pigs, Maestro, Moss, Arizona Sunshine Remake, and Metro Awakening.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin tops free-to-play downloads
In free-to-play, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin finished March as the most-downloaded title across PS5 and PS4 in Asia. It was followed by Where Winds Meet (F2P) in second and Delta Force (F2P) in third, with eFootball and Roblox also ranking high.
The rest of the top 10 included PUBG: Battlegrounds, Asphalt Legends, Arknights: Endfield, Genshin Impact, and Fall Guys—highlighting how competitive multiplayer, long-running live-service hits, and anime-inspired releases are all pulling significant download numbers.
A month driven by variety, not one dominant genre
Across PS5, PS4, PS VR2, and free-to-play, March 2026 in Asia wasn’t owned by a single genre. Instead, the rankings were led by a mix of major open-world releases, evergreen catalog favorites, competitive sports games, and proven free-to-play staples—showing that player demand in the region remains broad, active, and constantly shifting month to month.
