Crimson Desert Levels Up With Intel Arc GPU Optimization and XeSS 3.0 Frame Generation Support

Crimson Desert players using Intel Arc graphics cards finally have a reason to jump back in. Three weeks after launch, Pearl Abyss has rolled out a patch that brings official support for Intel Arc GPUs, along with Intel’s XeSS 3.0 upscaling and XeSS Frame Generation options. The update also includes a batch of fixes and performance tuning aimed at making the game run more reliably across a wider range of systems.

At launch, Crimson Desert didn’t properly support Intel Arc GPUs, which left many players unable to start the game or stuck dealing with major stability problems. The situation drew heavy criticism, prompting Intel and Pearl Abyss to work together on compatibility improvements. Early on, it also raised eyebrows when some users reported being advised to request a refund rather than wait for a fix, making it seem like Intel Arc support might not arrive. Soon after, however, the developer confirmed an update was in the works to address Arc compatibility for both discrete Intel Arc graphics cards and Intel integrated graphics.

In the days leading up to the newest patch, an Intel Arc driver update helped improve the situation and allowed more players to launch Crimson Desert. Even then, many users said performance still wasn’t where it should be, with various glitches and bugs affecting smooth gameplay. The latest game update—Patch 1.03.00—is designed to clean up many of those issues.

According to the patch notes, the update delivers broader optimizations across gameplay, the user interface, graphics, and overall performance. Most importantly for Intel users, the Graphics and Settings section now includes official Intel Arc GPU support, with the expectation that further updates will continue to refine performance and stability.

The patch also adds Intel XeSS 3.0 to the in-game settings, giving players another way to boost frame rates through Intel’s upscaling technology. On top of that, XeSS Frame Generation is now available, which can help raise perceived smoothness by generating additional frames during gameplay—especially useful for players trying to hit higher refresh rates without sacrificing too much visual quality.

AMD users aren’t left out either. The update introduces AMD Radeon Anti-Lag 2, a feature aimed at reducing input latency for a more responsive feel, particularly in fast-paced moments.

For players who held off due to lack of Intel Arc support, this is the first official signal that Crimson Desert is ready to be played on Arc hardware with proper in-game settings and ongoing optimization.
