Compeq Bets NT$2.09 Billion on Guanyin Site to Boost PCB Capacity for Optical and Space Data Centers

Compeq Manufacturing is moving to strengthen its position in the advanced printed circuit board market with a major land acquisition in northern Taiwan. The HDI PCB specialist has approved the purchase of a new manufacturing site in Taoyuan’s Guanyin Industrial Park for around NT$2.09 billion, equivalent to approximately US$64.5 million.

The investment signals Compeq’s intention to expand production capacity as demand grows for high-density interconnect PCB solutions used in next-generation optical applications. As technology companies push for faster data transmission, more efficient networking hardware, and improved optical communication systems, the need for advanced circuit board manufacturing continues to rise.

The Guanyin Industrial Park location gives Compeq access to an established manufacturing hub with strong infrastructure and logistics advantages. Taoyuan has long been an important base for Taiwan’s electronics supply chain, making it a strategic choice for companies looking to scale up production while staying close to key suppliers and customers.

Compeq’s move comes at a time when optical technology is becoming increasingly important across data centers, cloud computing, artificial intelligence infrastructure, telecommunications, and high-performance networking. These sectors require reliable, compact, and technically advanced PCB designs capable of supporting higher speeds and greater signal integrity.

By securing additional manufacturing space, Compeq is preparing to meet future customer requirements and support the development of more advanced optical products. The company’s focus on HDI PCB manufacturing places it in a strong position as electronics makers continue to demand smaller, more complex, and higher-performance components.

The NT$2.09 billion acquisition also highlights growing confidence in the long-term outlook for Taiwan’s printed circuit board industry. As global demand for advanced electronics accelerates, manufacturers with strong technical capabilities and scalable production resources are expected to play a larger role in the supply chain.

Compeq’s expansion in Guanyin is not just a real estate investment. It reflects a broader strategy to capture opportunities in next-generation optical communication, advanced electronics, and high-speed connectivity. With the new site, the company is better positioned to support customers developing cutting-edge technologies that require precision, reliability, and large-scale manufacturing capacity.

As demand for advanced PCB solutions continues to grow, Compeq’s latest investment could become an important step in strengthening its competitiveness and supporting the next wave of optical technology innovation.
