Colorful has expanded its playful Colorfire Meow gaming laptop lineup with the new Meow X16 Pro, a 16-inch machine that blends gaming hardware with a very distinctive cat-inspired design.
The Meow X16 Pro is not trying to be the most extreme gaming laptop on the market, but it does pack enough power for modern PC gaming. At its core is an AMD Ryzen 7 8745HX processor based on Zen 4 architecture, paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU rated at 115 W. Colorful says the CPU and GPU can reach a combined power draw of up to 170 W, giving the laptop enough headroom for demanding games and creative workloads.
To manage heat, the laptop uses a cooling system with two fans and four heat pipes. It also supports switching between dedicated GPU mode and hybrid graphics mode, allowing users to save power during lighter tasks such as browsing, streaming, or office work.
The standard configuration includes 16 GB of dual-channel DDR5-5200 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. There is also an extra M.2 slot, which reportedly supports PCIe 5.0 storage for users who want faster speeds or more capacity in the future.
One of the strongest parts of the Meow X16 Pro is its display. The laptop features a 16-inch IPS panel with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, giving it a sharp 16:10 screen that should work well for both gaming and productivity. It also offers a 180 Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of peak brightness, and full 100% sRGB color coverage, making it suitable for fast-paced games, media consumption, and content creation.
Battery capacity is listed at 80 Wh, and the laptop supports 100 W USB-C Power Delivery charging. That should make it more convenient for users who want to charge with a compatible USB-C adapter when they are not using the full-size gaming power brick.
Connectivity is also well covered. The Meow X16 Pro includes Wi-Fi 6E, 2.5 Gb Ethernet, three USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports. This gives users plenty of options for gaming accessories, external displays, wired networking, and storage devices.
While the internal hardware is important, the real highlight of the Colorfire Meow X16 Pro is its design. Colorful has given the laptop an “Orange Shadow White” finish, combining a bright orange-and-white color scheme with feline-themed details across the chassis. The lid features a subtle 3D cat pattern, while the keyboard area includes orange accents and a pearl-effect coating. Even the touchpad gets a paw-print design, making the laptop stand out from the usual black and gray gaming notebooks.
The hinge can open 180 degrees, which adds flexibility for desk setups, sharing the screen, or adjusting the display angle in tighter spaces.
Colorful has also added some unusual smart features. Through its Smart Control ecosystem, the Meow X16 Pro can connect with a smartphone, allowing the phone to act as a presentation remote or even a game controller. The laptop also includes a dedicated low-power AI voice chip with an offline wake engine. This enables voice-controlled power-on and automatic unlocking without needing an internet connection.
For now, the Colorfire Meow X16 Pro appears to be available only in China. It launched on September 1 with a price of CNY 10,499, which is roughly $1,565. Colorful has not confirmed whether the laptop will be released in global markets.
With its Ryzen 7 processor, RTX 5060 graphics, high-refresh 16-inch display, and bold cat-themed design, the Colorful Colorfire Meow X16 Pro is clearly aimed at gamers who want performance with personality. It may not be the most powerful gaming laptop in its class, but its unique styling and feature set make it one of the more memorable gaming laptops released this year.
