Casio G-Shock x Hotei 45th Celebration Watch Revealed in New Images
Casio’s latest G-Shock collaboration with Japanese guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei is starting to take shape, and the newest images give fans a much clearer look at the upcoming limited-edition model. Known as the Hotei 45th Celebration G-Shock Guitarhythm, the watch brings Hotei’s iconic visual style to a rugged GM-5600 design.
The new photos show a darker, more refined look than the early promotional artwork suggested. Instead of a sharp black-and-white contrast, the Guitarhythm pattern appears in a grey-on-black finish, giving the watch a stealthier and more mature appearance. The pattern stretches across the resin strap and continues around the face, creating a seamless design that surrounds the metal bezel of the GM-5600UB-1 base model.
The watch uses a negative LCD display, matching the darker theme of the design. Above the digital readout, the Hotei and Guitarhythm branding can be seen, making the collaboration instantly recognizable without overpowering the overall look.
Casio and Hotei have also confirmed several additional details. The caseback will feature a Guitarhythm mark, while the buckle and side buttons are treated with black IP finishing. Even the packaging follows the same visual direction, carrying the Guitarhythm pattern across its surface for a complete collector-focused presentation.
Preorders for the Casio G-Shock x Hotei 45th Celebration model are expected to open this autumn through the official online shop. However, the price and shipping schedule have not yet been announced. Since this will be a limited-edition release, demand is likely to be strong among both G-Shock collectors and Hotei fans.
The collaboration also ties into Hotei’s Stay Wild Tour, which includes 27 performances across 21 locations. The tour began on September 5 with two shows at Takasaki Arts Theatre, and sample units of the watch are expected to be displayed at merchandise booths throughout the tour.
This release marks the first Hotei-themed G-Shock in around five years. The previous model arrived in 2021 to celebrate Hotei’s 40th anniversary and was based on the GA-2100. Before that, the 35th-anniversary DW-5600HT-1JR launched in March 2017 with a pre-tax price of ¥17,000.
Over the years, each Hotei x G-Shock collaboration has moved toward a more premium platform. With the new GM-5600 base and its metal bezel construction, the 45th Celebration Guitarhythm model appears to be the most upscale Hotei G-Shock so far.
For collectors, the appeal is clear: a limited-edition Casio G-Shock, a distinctive Guitarhythm design, premium black IP details, special packaging, and a direct connection to Hotei’s milestone anniversary tour. With preorders approaching this autumn, this could become one of the most talked-about G-Shock collaboration watches of the year.
