Casio GMA-S160 ultra-compact G-Shock watches launch in Europe with €129 pricing
Casio’s latest ultra-compact G-Shock models, the GMA-S160 series, have officially gone on sale in Europe. The new trio arrives shortly after opening for pre-orders in Japan, giving European buyers access to all three color options at a listed price of €129 each.
The new lineup includes the Casio GMA-S160-1B in black, the GMA-S160-2B in navy, and the GMA-S160-7A in a pale cream finish. All three versions are now available through Casio’s European storefronts, with listings appearing in Spain, Germany, and France. The Spanish store currently shows the models with active purchasing availability, while other regional stores mark them as new arrivals for October 2026.
One of the more interesting details is how closely Casio has aligned the pricing between Japan and Europe. The European price of €129 includes VAT, which brings the pre-tax amount to roughly €106.61, or about $120. In Japan, the ¥20,900 price includes local consumption tax, which works out to approximately ¥19,000 before tax, also around $120. That puts the pre-tax pricing in both markets almost exactly in line, something that does not always happen with global watch launches.
The GMA-S160 series is designed for buyers who want the toughness of a G-Shock in a smaller and lighter case. Each model measures 40.7 x 35.7 mm and is just 10.8 mm thick, making it one of the more compact options in the G-Shock family. At only 31 g, these watches should feel comfortable for daily wear, especially for those who prefer a smaller wristwatch without giving up durability.
Visually, the standout feature is the case and strap design. The band flows directly from the case without an obvious lug break, giving the watch a smooth, integrated look. From a distance, the GMA-S160 appears almost like a single molded piece, which helps distinguish it from other compact G-Shock models.
The dial has a metallic-style finish, though the construction remains lightweight and practical. The case and bezel are made from resin and bio-based resin, while the band also uses bio-based resin. This gives the watch a more environmentally conscious angle while retaining the shock-resistant design G-Shock watches are known for.
In terms of features, the Casio GMA-S160 keeps things familiar and functional. It offers 200-meter water resistance, making it suitable for swimming and everyday outdoor use. Power comes from a CR1025 battery, with an estimated battery life of around three years.
The watch also includes dual time, a stopwatch that runs up to 59 minutes and 59 seconds, an automatic calendar programmed through 2099, and a dual-LED Super Illuminator for improved readability in low light. Accuracy is rated at plus or minus 15 seconds per month, and the display is protected by mineral glass.
For now, Casio has not confirmed whether the GMA-S160 series will launch in the United States. European buyers, however, already have access to the complete color lineup, and the consistent pricing suggests Casio is positioning these compact G-Shock models as a well-balanced option for fans who want durability, style, and a smaller fit at a reasonable price.
