Casio CRW-002 Ring Watch Brings the Classic A168 Design to Your Finger
Casio has introduced its second-generation digital ring watch, the CRW-002, for the US market, and this tiny wearable takes a very different direction from the first model. Instead of continuing with the G-Shock-inspired look of the CRW-001, Casio has miniaturized one of its most recognizable digital watches: the classic A168.
The result is a retro-style Casio ring watch that looks like a shrunken digital wristwatch made to sit on your finger. For fans of Casio’s vintage digital watches, the CRW-002 blends nostalgia, novelty, and functional timekeeping in a surprisingly compact design.
Casio is offering the CRW-002 in two versions. The CRW-002D-1A comes in a clean stainless-steel look, while the CRW-002G-9A features a gold-tone finish for a more eye-catching retro aesthetic. Both models are designed as miniature full-metal digital watches rather than smart rings, so they focus on classic Casio functions instead of health tracking or fitness sensors.
Despite its tiny size, the Casio CRW-002 packs in several practical features. It includes dual time, a 60-minute stopwatch, an LED backlight, a calendar, support for both 12-hour and 24-hour time formats, and Casio’s Time Flash function. With Time Flash, the light blinks on the hour and can also flash at a user-set time.
The ring watch measures just 25.2 x 18.2 x 6.2 mm and weighs around 15 grams, making it small enough to wear comfortably while still carrying the recognizable shape of a traditional Casio digital watch. To create the compact metal body, Casio uses a metal injection molding process. This method combines fine metal powder with resin, allowing the company to form detailed metal parts at a very small scale.
Power comes from an SR621SW battery, which Casio says can last up to two years. The CRW-002 also offers basic water resistance for everyday use, though Casio has not listed a specific depth rating. Accuracy is rated at ±30 seconds per month, which is typical for this kind of quartz digital timepiece.
The Casio CRW-002D-1A and CRW-002G-9A are each priced at $155. While Casio has confirmed the models for the US, detailed retail availability has not yet been clearly announced.
With the CRW-002, Casio is leaning into its retro watch heritage while creating something playful and collectible. It is not a smartwatch and it is not trying to compete with smart rings packed with sensors. Instead, it is a tiny digital Casio watch for your finger, complete with old-school charm, useful timekeeping tools, and a design inspired by one of the brand’s most familiar classics.
