Casio’s Latest Streetwear G-Shock Turns “Time Is Money” Into a Bold Boxed Statement

Casio G-Shock DW-5600BEP-9 brings gold streetwear style and “Time is Money” packaging

Casio is adding a bold new model to its G-Shock lineup with the DW-5600BEP-9, a special collaboration with Tokyo streetwear brand BlackEyePatch. Set for a November release, this limited-style digital watch takes the classic square G-Shock shape and gives it a striking gold-tone makeover.

The DW-5600BEP-9 stands out immediately with its full gold-tone exterior. Both the bezel and band feature a slightly metallic finish, giving the watch a flashy streetwear-inspired look while keeping the rugged identity that G-Shock fans expect. The black watch face creates a sharp contrast, while the gold LCD digits tie the whole design together.

BlackEyePatch branding appears above the display, adding a clear collaborative touch without overwhelming the familiar DW-5600 design. The watch also features a gold-tone metal buckle and a translucent band keeper, small details that help make the model feel more distinctive. On the back, the stainless steel caseback is engraved with the BlackEyePatch logo, with the module number 3525 placed above it.

The packaging is also a major part of the release. The Casio G-Shock DW-5600BEP-9 comes in a black presentation box featuring the BlackEyePatch mark on the lid. Across the base of the box, the phrase “Time is Money” is printed, giving the release a collectible feel that should appeal to both G-Shock collectors and streetwear fans.

In terms of specifications, the DW-5600BEP-9 sticks closely to the proven formula of the classic G-Shock square. The case measures 48.9 x 42.8 x 13.4 mm and weighs 53 g. It is made from resin and bio-based resin, while the band is also made from bio-based resin. The watch offers 200-meter water resistance, making it suitable for daily wear, outdoor use, and swimming.

The display is protected by mineral glass, and the watch runs on a CR2016 battery rated for about five years of use. Functions include a 1/100-second stopwatch, a 24-hour countdown timer with auto-repeat, a multi-function alarm, flash alert, and a white Super Illuminator backlight with afterglow. Accuracy is listed at plus or minus 15 seconds per month.

BlackEyePatch began in 2013 as a sticker label seen around Tokyo before growing into a full apparel brand. It launched its first autumn clothing collection in 2015 and later opened a flagship store in Harajuku in 2023. Its collaboration with Casio continues the brand’s connection to urban fashion, graphic identity, and street culture.

Casio has not announced the official price for the G-Shock DW-5600BEP-9 yet. For comparison, the previous BlackEyePatch G-Shock square model, the navy DW-5610BEP-2, launched in Japan in July 2024 at ¥17,600, or around $115.

With its gold finish, classic DW-5600 silhouette, engraved caseback, and collectible “Time is Money” box, the Casio G-Shock DW-5600BEP-9 looks positioned as a standout release for fans of digital watches, limited-edition G-Shock models, and Japanese streetwear collaborations.
