Casio’s newest addition to the Pro Trek lineup, the Pro Trek PRW-61D-2, is no longer a Japan-only release. After first being revealed with limited availability details, the watch has now shown up on Casio’s international website with a “New | 05/2026” release marker and a working store locator. That’s a strong sign the PRW-61D-2 is heading to global markets in May 2026, giving outdoor-watch fans outside Japan an official path to buy it.
What makes the PRW-61D-2 especially interesting isn’t just the spec sheet—it’s the story behind the design. Casio says the dial is inspired by “Dragon Eye,” a seasonal natural phenomenon seen near Mount Hachimantai in Japan. As the snow melts around Kagami-numa Pond, it forms a circular pattern that looks like a giant eye reflecting the sky. Casio translates that look into a white, textured dial meant to resemble melting snow, paired with a blue ion-plated bezel that nods to the surrounding ring of water. The result is an outdoors-ready watch that feels more thoughtful and location-inspired than a typical colorway refresh.
Beyond the visuals, the PRW-61D-2 sits at the higher end of the Pro Trek range with the features many buyers expect from a premium Casio adventure watch. It includes a Triple Sensor setup with an altimeter, barometer, digital compass, and thermometer, along with Tough Solar charging for long-term convenience. For accurate timekeeping across supported regions, it also comes with Multi Band 6 radio time calibration.
Casio has built the PRW-61D-2 with durability and comfort in mind. The case measures 51 × 47.4 × 14.7 mm and the watch weighs 62 g. It uses a bio-based resin case and a CNF-reinforced rubber strap, which Casio describes as a Dura Soft band designed to be stiffer and more supportive than standard resin straps. Up top, you get a sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating, plus a screw-lock crown to improve sealing. Water resistance is rated to 100 meters, making it suitable for swimming and general outdoor use.
International pricing hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but the Japan retail price is listed at ¥79,200. Based on that figure, buyers should expect the Casio Pro Trek PRW-61D-2 to land around the $500 range when it reaches regional retailers in May 2026.
With a nature-inspired dial concept, a sapphire crystal, solar power, sensor suite, and radio timekeeping, the PRW-61D-2 looks positioned for people who want a serious outdoor tool watch—one that also carries a distinctive design tied to a real-world natural event.
