Casio is getting ready to refresh its digital watch lineup with the new W-738H series, officially launching in Japan this May alongside the latest G-Shock releases. The new range includes two models, the Casio W-738H-1AJF and the Casio W-738H-3AJF, both designed to deliver the familiar practicality Casio fans expect, but with a new look.
At first glance, the W-738H models keep much of what made the earlier W-735H appealing, while switching to a modern square-shaped case. The case size is listed at 47 x 42.8 x 13.5 mm, giving it a bold, easy-to-read presence on the wrist without losing that classic Casio digital identity.
A wider release also appears to be on the horizon. Both watches have shown up in European retailer listings, suggesting Casio is preparing for a global rollout. In the UK, the models are already marked as “coming soon” on Casio’s official store with a listed price of £45. Current expectations point to a June 2026 release window for Europe and the UK, making this a launch worth watching if you prefer to buy locally rather than import.
Feature-wise, the Casio W-738H-1AJF and W-738H-3AJF pack in a strong set of everyday tools. You’re getting dual time for quick timezone switching, plus a 1/100-second stopwatch that supports elapsed time, split time, 1st and 2nd place tracking, and auto start. There’s also a 24-hour countdown timer, a daily alarm, an hourly time signal, and a full auto-calendar that runs all the way up to 2099—ideal for anyone who wants a reliable grab-and-go digital watch.
Casio is also leaning into durability and convenience here. The W-738H series is rated for 100 meters (10 bar) of water resistance and is advertised with a 10-year battery life, a major selling point for anyone who doesn’t want the hassle of frequent battery changes. One standout extra is the vibration alarm, a useful feature if you need alerts that are more discreet than beeps—especially at work, in transit, or during workouts.
Pricing in Japan is set at 7,700 yen per model. For colors, the W-738H-1AJF comes in a clean black finish, while the W-738H-3AJF offers a khaki-green case. Both feature a light-background display for clear visibility.
If you’re planning to pick one up early, pre-orders are already available through Casio Japan’s official store, while UK and European buyers may want to keep an eye on local availability as the expected June 2026 launch approaches.
