Casio Expands Tough Solar Pro Trek Duo With Triple-Sensor Adventure Tech

Casio Pro Trek PRG-340 Series Launched in India With Tough Solar, Triple Sensor, and Outdoor-Ready Design

Casio has expanded its outdoor watch lineup in India with the launch of two new Pro Trek PRG-340 series models: the Casio Pro Trek PRG-340-1 and the Casio Pro Trek PRG-340-3. Built for adventure enthusiasts, hikers, trekkers, and anyone who spends time outdoors, these rugged digital watches combine practical navigation tools with durable construction and solar-powered convenience.

The two models share the same feature set but arrive in different color options. The Casio Pro Trek PRG-340-1 comes in a classic all-black design, giving it a bold and versatile look. The Casio Pro Trek PRG-340-3, on the other hand, features a muted olive-green case with a matching resin strap, making it a strong choice for those who prefer a more adventure-inspired style.

One of the key highlights of the PRG-340 series is its dual-layer LCD. This display setup separates compass graphics from standard timekeeping functions, making information easier to read during outdoor use. Casio has also equipped both watches with a Super Illuminator LED backlight, helping users check the display clearly in low-light conditions, whether they are camping at night, hiking before sunrise, or navigating in dim environments.

For outdoor tracking and navigation, the Casio Pro Trek PRG-340 models feature Triple Sensor technology. This includes a digital compass, thermometer, and barometer/altimeter. The digital compass is useful for directional guidance, while the barometer and altimeter help users monitor changes in air pressure and elevation. The thermometer provides real-time temperature readings, adding another layer of environmental awareness for outdoor activities.

Battery life is another major strength of the new Pro Trek watches. Both models are powered by Casio’s Tough Solar charging system, which uses light to keep the watch running. According to Casio, the PRG-340 series can operate for up to seven months on a full charge with typical use, reducing the need for frequent battery replacements and making the watches more reliable for extended outdoor trips.

The watches are also built to handle rough conditions. They offer 100-meter water resistance, making them suitable for rain, splashes, and general outdoor exposure. A rotating bezel adds to their practical design, while features such as sunrise and sunset display, stopwatch, and world time support for 48 cities make them useful for both travel and daily wear.

In terms of accuracy, the Casio Pro Trek PRG-340 series is rated at ±15 seconds per month, which is standard for reliable digital timekeeping. Combined with its outdoor sensors, solar charging, durable body, and functional design, the PRG-340 lineup is aimed at users who want a dependable watch for exploration without sacrificing everyday usability.

The Casio Pro Trek PRG-340-1 and Casio Pro Trek PRG-340-3 are priced at ₹17,995 each in India, which is approximately $188. Both models are now available through Casio India’s official sales channels and authorized retailers.
