Capcom Targets Silky 60 FPS for Devil May Cry 5 on Switch 2

Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition brings 60 FPS action to Nintendo Switch 2

Capcom is bringing stylish demon-slaying action to Nintendo Switch 2 with Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition, launching digitally on June 23, 2026. This marks the first time Devil May Cry 5 will be playable on a portable Nintendo system, giving fans the chance to enjoy its high-speed combat at home or on the go.

The release arrives at a strong moment for the franchise. Devil May Cry has now surpassed 38 million lifetime sales worldwide, with Devil May Cry 5 alone accounting for more than 11 million units. With its sharp combat, memorable characters, and signature over-the-top style, the game remains one of Capcom’s most successful modern action titles.

For the Nintendo Switch 2 version, Capcom has focused heavily on performance. Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition targets 60 frames per second in both docked and handheld modes, aiming to keep combat smooth and responsive no matter how players choose to play.

To achieve that level of performance, some demanding features have been left out. The Switch 2 edition does not include hardware-accelerated ray tracing, Turbo Mode, or the Legendary Dark Knight difficulty mode, which is known for filling the screen with large numbers of enemies. These adjustments help the game maintain its 60 FPS target while keeping the download size relatively compact at 28 GB.

Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition also gives players access to the full campaign and all major playable characters from the beginning. Nero, Dante, V, and Vergil are all available right away, letting players jump into the story with their preferred combat style.

Vergil is fully included as part of the experience, allowing players to use his precise, concentration-based fighting system across the main missions. His addition gives longtime fans another reason to revisit the campaign, while newcomers can experience one of the series’ most iconic characters from the start.

The edition also includes several previously released premium extras. Players will get the EX Color Pack, which adds alternate character colors, along with special Devil Breaker arms for Nero. These include fan-favorite options such as the Mega Buster and Gerbera GP01, giving players more variety in both appearance and gameplay.

The digital version of Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition launches on the Nintendo eShop on June 23, 2026, with a promotional price of $30. That launch discount will remain available until July 7, after which the price will increase to the standard $40.

For players who prefer physical games, Capcom will release a cartridge version on August 28, 2026.

With 60 FPS gameplay, full character access, included bonus content, and portable play, Devil May Cry 5: Devil Hunter Edition looks set to be one of the most exciting action game releases for Nintendo Switch 2 owners in 2026.
