Bixby SDC 2023 2

Bixby Gets a Fresh Look and Enhanced Features Following Galaxy S24 Launch

With the launch of the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung unveiled Galaxy AI, a comprehensive suite of AI-powered features designed to enhance daily tasks for users. Despite expectations that Samsung might phase out or rebrand its virtual assistant, Bixby remains a key player in Samsung’s tech ecosystem. Instead of retiring, Bixby has emerged with a refreshed design and a set of improvements that extend beyond the Galaxy S24.

January 2024 Brings a New Interface and Functional Enhancements to Bixby

The latest update propels Bixby forward with a sleek new user interface (UI), embracing a visually appealing color palette with darker and lighter shades of blue, complemented by hints of purple. This new aesthetic is most apparent in the Bixby orb that comes to life on the screen upon activation. The orb is now adorned with an alluring liquid animation, a significant facelift compared to the previous design. This update is encapsulated in the app version 3.3.53.16 and is being distributed to Galaxy smartphones and tablets that operate on Android 14-based One UI 6.0.

The UI overhaul isn’t just for smartphones; Galaxy Tab users with One UI 6.0 will also notice the new look on their devices. The on-screen implementation is thoughtfully designed, with the Bixby pop-up and response windows being repositioned to the bottom right corner of the screen to minimize disruption of the user’s view. Additionally, the appearance of information provided by Bixby has been refined, sporting cleaner aesthetics and smoother transitions.

Apart from aesthetic changes, the January 2024 update for Bixby brings with it a raft of functional improvements and bug fixes. Notably, the icons for Bixby Discover, Settings, and Keyboard Input have been removed, streamlining the interface even further. In India, users now have the choice between three voice options for Bixby, offering a more customized assistant experience. Those eager to experience the new Bixby can look for the latest update in the Galaxy Store if it hasn’t already been installed on their devices.

To get a closer look at the revamped features and UI details, a visual presentation of the new Bixby can be found on widely known video-sharing platforms, such as YouTube, providing a snapshot of the updates in action.

With these improvements, Bixby continues to demonstrate Samsung’s commitment to enhancing the user experience through ongoing innovation and responsiveness to consumer needs.
