BenQ has introduced the Zowie XL2586X, a high-refresh-rate monitor that aims to compete with the likes of the ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP, providing avid gamers with a smooth and swift gaming experience. The new gaming monitor boasts an impressive 540 Hz refresh rate, positioning it as a serious contender in the high-end gaming display market.
One of the standout features of the BenQ Zowie XL2586X is its remarkably fast response times, which have been measured at an average of 1.1 ms GtG. This performance places it close to the ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP, although slightly behind in terms of speed. Despite this, it is important to note that while the monitor includes BenQ’s proprietary DyAc 2 backlight strobing technology, this feature may not significantly reduce motion blur as effectively on the high-speed 540 Hz panel as it might on a traditional 240 Hz display.
The Zowie XL2586X, however, does not come with several features that some gamers might expect from a high-end gaming monitor. It lacks the NVIDIA G-SYNC and Reflex modules, which are often sought after for their benefit in smoother gameplay and lower input lag. In terms of brightness, the monitor falls short of the ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP, reaching a maximum of 357 nits with DyAc 2 turned off, compared to 446 nits on the ASUS model.
While the ASUS ROG Swift Pro PG248QP has been on the market for approximately five months and currently holds steady at its $899 MSRP in the United States, BenQ has not yet determined the price for the Zowie XL2586X. It appears that the final pricing is still being deliberated, and the release date for the monitor remains unannounced.
Enthusiasts eager to upgrade their gaming setup with the BenQ Zowie XL2586X will have to stay tuned for further information regarding pricing and availability, but it’s clear that this monitor is set to make waves in the high-performance gaming sphere with its ultra-high refresh rate and responsive display technology.
