The excitement surrounding EA and DICE’s Battlefield 6 has reached a fever pitch as the game amassed an impressive 500,000 wishlists on Steam over a single weekend. This surge of interest came just a day after the release of the highly anticipated first reveal trailer, highlighting strong player anticipation.
This milestone was shared by Rickard Linder, CEO of Alinea Analytics, who noted the enthusiastic response to the single-player campaign trailer. The storyline features NATO forces clashing with the in-game Pax Armata military company in a dramatic assault on New York.
The official trailer has racked up over 7.8 million views and received nearly half a million likes, with total views skyrocketing into the tens of millions, thanks to reuploads and shares. Insights from Alinea Analytics reveal that around 60% of wishlists are from players familiar with Battlefield 2042, despite its mixed reviews.
Since its Steam page launch on July 24, Battlefield 6 has soared to the top of the platform’s trending upcoming titles, surpassing even other eagerly awaited releases like Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater and EA Sports FC 26.
The franchise is looking to bounce back after the challenging launch of Battlefield 2042 in 2021, which sold over 4 million units but faced criticism for various issues. Despite this, enthusiasm for Battlefield 6 is high, with speculation that the new installment will exceed previous benchmarks, including Battlefield 2042’s peak player count of 107,376 and a 46.7% user rating out of over 300,000 reviews.
Fans are eager for a return to the chaotic and destructible environments that originally made the Battlefield series a standout. On July 31, 2025, the spotlight will be on Battlefield 6’s multiplayer reveal in Los Angeles, where content creators and streamers will dive into the new mode.
An October 11, 2025 release date was hinted at via a now-removed legal disclaimer on EA’s site. The game will launch on PS5, Xbox Series S|X, and PC via Steam, skipping the older PS4 and Xbox One consoles.
