Casio looks ready to expand its popular GA-2100 “CasiOak” lineup with two fresh, military-inspired G-Shock models that have already surfaced in leaked renders. The rumored newcomers are the GA-2100CM-8A and GA-2100CM-5A, and both lean hard into a tactical style with all-over camouflage designs and stealthy negative (inverted) digital displays.
Based on the leaked images, these watches don’t just add a small camo accent—they go for a full camouflage treatment across the bezel and strap. The GA-2100CM-8A appears in a mauve taupe and grey-leaning camo palette aimed at an urban tactical look, while the GA-2100CM-5A shifts to sandy beige tones that feel more desert-inspired. One of the more interesting design details is the dotted texture sitting alongside the camo striping, which is said to be created using laser painting for a 3D-style visual effect.
In terms of what buyers can expect beyond the looks, these releases are believed to be updated takes on earlier GA-2100 camo variants from the past few years, likely using the same module as their predecessors. If that holds true, fans of the GA-2100 series should get the familiar feature set that makes this model a daily-wear favorite: 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance with Casio’s Carbon Core Guard structure, a bright LED backlight, world time covering 31 time zones with daylight saving support, five daily alarms, a stopwatch, and an automatic calendar.
Pricing rumors point to an estimated cost of around $120, which would place them in the sweet spot for anyone who wants a rugged, name-brand shock-resistant watch without jumping into premium pricing territory. The expected launch window is February, and as is common for many Casio releases, availability may start in Japan before rolling out more broadly to other regions. While an exact release date hasn’t been pinned down yet, the leaks suggest the official announcement may not be far off.
For G-Shock collectors and anyone who likes the GA-2100’s slim, octagonal case design, the GA-2100CM-8A and GA-2100CM-5A could be a compelling upgrade—especially if you want a tougher, more tactical aesthetic that still keeps the lightweight comfort the Carbon Core Guard models are known for.
