Asus is stepping deeper into the premium productivity mouse space with the ProArt Mouse MD301, a new wireless model first shown at CES 2026 and now officially available to buy in China. Positioned as a direct alternative to Logitech’s popular MX Master lineup, the ProArt MD301 targets creators and office users who want an ergonomic, feature-rich mouse with long battery life and customization options.
In China, the ProArt MD301 is currently listed at CNY 599 with a launch promotion, which works out to roughly $87. That pricing undercuts the typical local price of the Logitech MX Master 4, commonly seen around CNY 899 (about $130). For buyers comparing premium wireless mice, Asus is clearly aiming for a better value-per-feature proposition while still keeping the ProArt branding and creator-focused appeal.
One of the biggest differences is weight. Asus lists the ProArt MD301 at 99.7 grams, significantly lighter than the MX Master 4’s 150 grams. This lighter build, paired with an ergonomic shape, is designed to sit naturally in the hand and stay comfortable over long work sessions—an important factor for designers, editors, and anyone spending hours at a desk.
Battery life is another attention-grabbing advantage. The ProArt MD301 includes an 800 mAh battery and is rated for up to 180 days of use. By comparison, the MX Master 4 has a 650 mAh battery with a maximum rated runtime of 70 days. For people who hate charging peripherals (or simply want a mouse that’s always ready), Asus is making endurance a core selling point. The mouse also supports USB-C fast charging, which is now a must-have for modern desk setups.
The standout feature, though, is switch customization. The ProArt MD301 uses push-fit sockets that support swappable switches, including both micro and optical switch types. Asus says the included switches are rated for up to 80 million clicks, a durability figure that will appeal to heavy daily users and professionals who expect their gear to last.
Asus hasn’t named the sensor inside the ProArt MD301, but it claims the mouse delivers “unmatched accuracy and precision.” Beyond that, the feature list rounds out with six programmable buttons and three connectivity modes, giving users flexibility across desktops, laptops, and multi-device workflows.
For now, availability is limited to China, and Asus hasn’t confirmed exactly when the ProArt Mouse MD301 will roll out internationally. Still, given the CES reveal and this early retail launch, a broader global release is expected sooner rather than later. If Asus brings the same aggressive pricing to more regions, the ProArt MD301 could become one of the most compelling premium productivity mouse alternatives for 2026.
