ASUS has recently unveiled the impressive performance enhancements that the ROG Ally and Ally X handheld gaming devices have received following the release of AMD Fluid Motion Frames 2 (AFMF 2). This update, now accessible to these gadgets, is proving to significantly boost gaming experiences by reducing frame time and increasing overall performance.
AMD’s Fluid Motion Frames 2 is an advancement over its predecessor, promising up to 2.5 times better performance. Officially launched in October alongside the AMD Adrenalin 24.9.1 GPU driver, the latest update wasn’t initially available for all devices. Fortunately, this powerful upgrade is now available for the ASUS ROG Ally and Ally X consoles, showing substantial performance improvements across a range of games.

Demonstrations illustrated the installation process and use of AFMF 2, emphasizing the significant performance uplift. Notably, the AFMF 2 extends its benefits to games that lack built-in upscaling methods like FSR 3, making older titles run more smoothly without developer-side changes.
Although AFMF 2 may not optimize performance as effectively as FSR 3, it still ensures a seamless gaming experience characterized by reduced latency and a noticeable increase in frames per second (fps).
