Asus ExpertBook PM3 Review: A Solid Business Laptop Backed by Long Warranty and Strong Security Updates

Looking for a capable business laptop that doesn’t blow past the €1,000 mark? The Asus ExpertBook PM3 is shaping up to be a strong pick for office work and everyday productivity, thanks to a modern AMD platform, a premium-feeling aluminum build, and unusually generous long-term support for this price.

Starting at around €979, the ExpertBook PM3 is built around the AMD Ryzen AI 7 350 (based on Zen 5). That matters for more than raw speed: the chip includes a powerful NPU (neural processing unit), which qualifies the laptop for Microsoft’s Copilot+ certification. In practical terms, that means it can handle Windows’ enhanced AI features designed for newer AI PCs. Asus also adds its own set of AI-focused tools—such as meeting transcription, summarization, and conference-related features like watermarks—bundled into an app suite called ExpertPanel. Importantly for business buyers, it keeps things clean by avoiding unnecessary preinstalled software.

Beyond the processor, the hardware checklist is largely what office users want. The aluminum chassis feels more premium than many rivals in the same price bracket, and the port selection is described as plentiful—though it’s worth noting that USB 4.0 isn’t included. The keyboard is highlighted as comfortable, making it a sensible option for long typing sessions. Battery life is considered sufficient for typical workdays, and the stereo speakers stand out as better than expected for an office-class machine.

There’s also some flexibility for light gaming or graphics tasks after hours. The integrated Radeon 860M can handle more than basic visuals, and if you add an extra RAM module, you can squeeze out additional performance for casual games and smoother overall responsiveness.

The biggest compromise is the display—at least on the reviewed configuration. The base screen is a straightforward IPS panel with Full HD resolution, a low color gamut, and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. For spreadsheet work, email, and general office tasks, that can be perfectly fine, especially if you spend most of your time connected to a larger external monitor. However, if you work mainly on the laptop’s built-in screen, Asus offers a more appealing option: a 2.5K IPS panel with full sRGB coverage and a faster 144Hz refresh rate, which should deliver noticeably better color and a smoother feel.

One of the ExpertBook PM3’s biggest advantages versus similarly priced competitors is the warranty and update policy. Asus includes a three-year warranty by default, which is more generous than what you often see from competing business laptops in this segment. It also comes with Windows 11 Professional and includes five years of software and BIOS updates, adding extra reassurance for long-term business use.

Overall, the Asus ExpertBook PM3 looks like a well-rounded office laptop: modern AMD performance with Copilot+ AI capabilities, a sturdy aluminum design, good usability touches, and standout warranty coverage. If you can choose the higher-quality display configuration (or you mostly dock to an external monitor anyway), it becomes an even more compelling alternative to popular midrange business models.
