ASRock is expanding its Phantom Gaming monitor lineup with a new option aimed squarely at competitive players who want ultra-smooth gameplay without giving up the sharpness of a 2K QHD resolution. The new Advanced PG27QFW2A pairs a 27-inch Fast IPS panel with a headline-grabbing refresh rate of up to 400 Hz, positioning it between entry-level IPS gaming displays and pricier flagship esports monitors.
What makes the PG27QFW2A especially appealing is how it balances speed and image quality. IPS panels are known for strong viewing angles and reliable color, but they’ve traditionally lagged behind other panel types in response times. ASRock counters that here with a Fast IPS panel rated at 1 ms GtG, helping reduce blur and smearing during fast motion—exactly what you want in high-FPS shooters, competitive arena games, and other reaction-heavy titles.
On the visual side, ASRock is leaning into wide-gamut color performance. The PG27QFW2A covers up to 99% DCI-P3 and 132% sRGB, which should translate into punchier, more saturated color than standard gaming monitors. It also supports VESA DisplayHDR 400, offering a step up in perceived contrast and highlight detail compared with basic SDR output, even if it’s not in the same tier as higher-end HDR implementations.
For smoother gameplay, the monitor includes AMD FreeSync Premium to help minimize screen tearing and stuttering when frame rates fluctuate. ASRock also mentions additional in-house viewing and customization features designed to tune the experience based on what you’re playing or how you prefer your image to look.
One unusual extra is the inclusion of a Phantom Gaming WiFi antenna feature intended to improve wireless signal strength, a perk geared toward players who rely on Wi-Fi and want a stronger, more stable connection.
Ergonomics and connectivity are also a major part of the package. The stand supports common adjustability options including height, tilt, pivot, and swivel, making it easier to dial in a comfortable setup for long gaming sessions. For ports, ASRock includes a USB hub with two USB Type-A ports plus a USB Type-B upstream connection, along with a 3.5 mm audio jack for headphones. Video inputs include two HDMI 2.1 ports and one DisplayPort 1.4 port, giving users flexibility for PCs and modern consoles.
Alongside the PG27QFW2A, ASRock also introduced a more affordable QHD alternative called the PG32QFT. It bumps the screen size up to 32 inches but tops out at 180 Hz, and it appears to keep a similar overall look while trimming down some of the higher-end features found on the 400 Hz model. That makes it a potentially attractive “big screen QHD” option for gamers who care more about size and value than extreme refresh rates.
ASRock hasn’t shared official pricing or release timing yet. Based on the feature set and positioning, the 27-inch 400 Hz Advanced PG27QFW2A is expected to cost more than the 32-inch PG32QFT and could land above the $300 mark, depending on the market and final configuration.
