Apple is gearing up for a special event on September 9, which is expected to center on new products featuring advanced intelligence capabilities. Aside from the highly anticipated iPhone 16 lineup, rumors suggest that the iPad mini 7 could also be unveiled at the event.
Reports indicate that the current iPad mini 6 is in short supply at various Apple Stores, hinting that a new version might soon be released. The iPad mini 6 was launched in September 2021, and it appears that its successor might arrive next month.
Mark Gurman from Bloomberg suggests that Apple internally finds the iPad mini 6 “constrained,” implying an imminent upgrade. The iPad mini 7 is expected to feature the latest processor—likely the A18 Pro chip, which is also slated for the iPhone 16 Pro models. This upgrade would support new AI functionalities, a key highlight of Apple’s current technological advancements.
Apart from the upgraded processor, the iPad mini 7 might also boast an enhanced camera and improved connectivity, including Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. However, don’t expect a new design; the iPad mini 7 is likely to retain the same chassis as its predecessor. The current design, introduced with the iPad mini 6, has been well-received for its modern look, having eliminated the large bezels of earlier models.
In addition to the iPad mini 7, the upcoming event is expected to introduce the new Apple Watch Series 10, rumored to feature a significant redesign. Stay tuned for detailed coverage of the event.
