Apple Rolls Out Updates Across Platforms: watchOS 10.4, macOS Sonoma 14.4, tvOS 17.4, and More

Apple has unleashed an array of software updates including the introduction of visionOS 1.1, following the release of iOS 17.4 and iPadOS 17.4 earlier. These updates cover a spectrum of devices and systems such as watchOS 10.4, macOS Sonoma 14.4, tvOS 17.4, HomePod Software 17.4, and the novel visionOS 1.1.

The new macOS Sonoma 14.4 caters to the latest EU digital market regulations by allowing EU residents to opt for alternative payment methods for App Store applications, given that the developers have enabled this feature. The update also brings a set of fresh emojis and reverses the orientation for 18 person and body emojis. Performance enhancements and bug fixes are also a part of this package.

WatchOS 10.4 delivers several features and optimizations for Apple Watch users. Now messages can be expanded on-screen with a double tap, and for those using Apple Pay’s “Confirm with Assistive Touch,” a pin code entry has been added for enhanced security measures. Issues with unresponsive touch on the display and contact synchronization errors have also been addressed.

HomePod users will notice improvements with the introduction of HomePod Software 17.4. The highlight here is Siri’s newly gained ability to remember the user’s preferred media service without the need to set a default app every time.

Apple TV hasn’t been left out of the update loop as tvOS 17.4 focuses on refining user experience with multiple minor bug fixes and incremental improvements.

The rollout extends to the Apple Vision Pro as well with the release of visionOS 1.1. Among its features are MDM capabilities for organizational deployment and device management, enhanced persona options, and the ability to delete system apps from the Home view. In addition to these substantial updates, expect to find other general enhancements, bug fixes, and vital security updates.

These widespread updates underscore Apple’s commitment to improving user experience and functionality across all their devices, ensuring that users have access to the latest features and security measures.
