Apple Analyst Reveals Surprising Delay for OLED MacBook Pro Redesign Predicted for 2026

The upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models are set to retain the design of their current predecessors powered by M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chipsets. However, future iterations, identified by their internal codenames J714 and J716, are expected to introduce significant upgrades with M6 generation chips and OLED displays—marking the first major design overhaul since 2020.

Speculation suggests that if Apple delays the release of M5-generation models to early 2026, launching their M6 successors in the same year might be impractical. Despite this, Apple has previously launched back-to-back releases, as seen with its M2 and M3 models, which led to a brief nine-month lifecycle for the M2-powered MacBook Pros. Although predicting multiple releases in a single year might seem ambitious, it remains a possibility, albeit tempered by recent trends that suggest Apple might not repeat frequent updates for these models.

As technology evolves, Apple fans eagerly anticipate the enhancements that next-generation Macs will bring, especially as whispers of new designs and advanced displays capture the imagination of tech enthusiasts.
