Anticipation Builds for March 2024 Launch of Xiaomi’s Upcoming Mid-Range Smartphone

Speculation is mounting about the release of a new mid-range smartphone from Xiaomi, expected to be the latest addition to its CIVI line. Reports earlier in the month suggested that Xiaomi is expanding its CIVI series, which includes the CIVI, CIVI 1S, CIVI 2, and CIVI 3. Although the CIVI 3 has yet to be launched, its close relation, the Xiaomi 13T, shares the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 Ultra chipset.

Interestingly, the upcoming device is tipped to be called the CIVI 4, which would be the fifth installment in the series. Xiaomi’s decision to continue using the number 4 in its product names, despite its cultural meanings in Chinese numerology, has been consistent with previous models such as the Mi 4, MIX 4, POCO F4, and Redmi Note 4.

Further suggesting a release on the horizon, the CIVI 4 has reportedly been certified with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). The product is listed under the model number ‘24031PN0DC,’ which was initially thought to belong to the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, but an IMEI database check has since linked this model number to the CIVI 4 name.

The company has a track record of updating its CIVI series every half to three-quarters of a year, and the model number ‘2403’ implies a March 2024 release window, although such timelines can be subject to change. The CIVI 4 is anticipated to feature the Dimensity 8300 Ultra chipset, following in the footsteps of its siblings, the Redmi K70E, and POCO X6 Pro.

Xiaomi fans and smartphone enthusiasts can look forward to more details emerging as the expected launch date approaches, potentially signaling an expansion of Xiaomi’s mid-range offerings with promising performance features.
