The indie gaming world is buzzing with excitement as Quorum Games unveils their debut project, “Call of Elyndra,” a captivating blend of classic action RPGs and farming simulations. Inspired by legendary titles like “Zelda: A Link to the Past” and “Harvest Moon,” this retro gem promises a nostalgic journey through magical realms and tranquil farms.
Currently in the works for Windows PC, “Call of Elyndra” is gearing up for its first public demo release, slated for December 2nd. This sneak peek will offer around 30 to 45 minutes of engaging gameplay, focusing on farming dynamics, a daring dungeon adventure, and an introduction to the main antagonist. While a full release date remains undisclosed, Quorum Games has hinted at the possibility of future console versions too.
Set in the mysterious village of Elyndra, the narrative follows three adventurers, each driven by a peculiar dream. Arriving in Elyndra, you aid the locals in rescuing a child from monstrous clutches, earning a piece of land to cultivate. However, peace is short-lived as an impending conflict between independent villages and a formidable Empire brews, thrusting you into a world of intrigue and choice.
Visually, “Call of Elyndra” enchants with its hand-crafted pixel-art, echoing the charm of Game Boy Advance classics. Players will explore diverse landscapes, meet intriguing NPCs, and tackle a variety of quests. Alongside the main narrative, you’ll gather tools to aid in combat and exploration, with the freedom to dedicate time to farming or questing—or both!
The game aims to enhance the strengths of its inspirations while addressing potential pitfalls, offering an extensive storyline expected to span over 30 hours. Players can expect rich character development, engaging side activities like fishing, and a world steeped in lore influenced by ancient cultures and religions.
With a combat system allowing for real-time strategy, dodge rolls, and special powers, “Call of Elyndra” promises to keep players on their toes throughout its journey. Approximately 70% of the game’s code is custom-developed, moving beyond the initial RPG Maker engine, ensuring a unique gaming experience.
As anticipation builds, mark your calendars for November 18th, 2024, when the game’s Steam page goes live. The full version release date is yet to be determined, but gamers can look forward to an immersive world of adventure, choice, and farming fun with “Call of Elyndra.” Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting indie title!
