Anker Unveils Eufy SoloCam E42: 4K Capability with Solar Charging

Introducing the Anker Eufy SoloCam E42, now available in the US with impressive features like 4K video recording, pan-and-tilt capabilities, and the option for solar power. This cutting-edge camera is part of Eufy’s strategy to enhance on-device AI and local storage, all without subscription fees.

The SoloCam E42, priced at $399.99, is currently being sold in a two-camera bundle with the S380 HomeBase 3 on Amazon. A four-camera bundle is also anticipated soon, with a price tag of $599.99.

This camera is equipped with a wide f/1.6 aperture lens, promising high-resolution 4K video. It includes pan-and-tilt functionality for extensive coverage, a built-in spotlight, strobe lights, two-way audio, and a robust 103dB siren to deter intruders. If powered via cable, it can continuously record, and its solar charging option via Eufy’s SolarPlus 2.0 panel ensures year-round operation with minimal sunlight.

A standout feature is its “BionicMind” AI, which allows local facial recognition, vehicle and pet detection, and license plate recognition up to 10 meters away. Users can establish two specific activity zones for focused monitoring. The camera offers local video storage on microSD cards up to 128GB, and when paired with the S380 HomeBase 3, storage expands to 16TB.

For smart home enthusiasts, the SoloCam E42 integrates seamlessly with Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, and Google Home. However, advanced AI functions and smart notifications require the S380 HomeBase 3, currently priced at $149.99 on Amazon. The camera is designed for durability with an IP65 rating, ensuring dust and water resistance. It provides both wired and solar-powered setups, and its innovative system offers cross-camera tracking and 360-degree protection through AI-powered event splicing.

Currently, the SoloCam E42 is available only in bundles with the S380 HomeBase. Individual sales are expected in the future, though details on pricing and availability are yet to be confirmed.
