AMD Ryzen 9000 CPU Series: TUF, ROG Strix, AORUS, and Eagle Models Revealed

In an exciting development for tech enthusiasts and AMD fans, a range of ASUS and Gigabyte AMD B850 and B840 motherboards have recently been leaked online. A total of eight motherboard models have been revealed, featuring details about their form factors, designs, and onboard features that have piqued the interest of the tech community.

Both Gigabyte and ASUS appear to be gearing up for significant new launches. Gigabyte is set to introduce updates to its AORUS, Eagle, and Gaming lineups, while ASUS is preparing to unveil enhancements to its ROG Strix, TUF, and Prime series within the B850 and B840 motherboard sectors.

The AMD AM5 series, which includes the 800-chipset motherboards, began with the X870/X870E lineup alongside the release of the Ryzen 9000 CPUs. It’s speculated that the rest of the 800 chipset boards will likely debut by early 2025. However, thanks to insightful leaks from @momomo_us, fans now have an early look at what to expect from these upcoming releases, even if the boards aren’t yet officially available.

Among the ASUS motherboards, three standout models have been highlighted: the ROG Strix B850-A Gaming WiFi, the TUF Gaming B850-Plus WiFi, and the PRIME B840M-A-CSM. The ROG Strix B850-A is a mid-range offering with sophisticated features, including 2x PCI-E x16 slots, 4x DIMMs, 4x M.2 ports, and a sleek white PCB enhanced with RGB lighting. On the other hand, the TUF Gaming B850 is designed with practicality in mind, featuring a robust all-black build and similar connectivity options, albeit with slightly smaller heatsinks.

For those looking for entry-level options, the ASUS PRIME B840M-A-CSM offers Gen 3.0 speeds on the M.2 and PCI-E slots. It comes as a micro-ATX board, packed with 4x DIMMs, 2x M.2 slots, and 4x SATA ports.

Five models from Gigabyte were also leaked, all of which fall under the B850 chipset category. These include the aesthetically appealing Gigabyte B850 AORUS Elite WiFi 7 in two color variants, the compact Gigabyte B850I AORUS PRO, the budget-friendly Gigabyte B850 EAGLE WiFi6E, and the straightforward Gigabyte B850 GAMING WiFi6.

The AORUS models stand out as mid-range contenders that share similar specs with the ASUS ROG Strix B850 boards, although the detailed specifications remain under wraps pending official announcements. The Eagle and Gaming series boards, while more affordable, come equipped with slightly older WiFi standards and simpler designs.

These tantalizing leaks suggest that all the aforementioned ASUS and Gigabyte motherboards are poised for a major debut at CES 2025. This event is expected to see AMD showcasing an array of new hardware as it continues to compete fiercely with industry giants Intel and NVIDIA. Enthusiasts eagerly anticipate these releases, which promise to offer compelling options across various price points and performance levels.
