The era of genuinely affordable gaming GPUs might seem like a relic of the past, but in 2025, AMD and Nvidia are still bringing solid options to the budget segment. A recent poll gives us insight into which GPU has captured the hearts of gamers, especially when considering price-to-performance.
Unsurprisingly, the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT emerged as the favorite, winning a substantial lead in the “Which GPU would you buy?” poll. With over 16,000 entries gathered, the RX 9060 XT claimed over 8,500 votes, significantly outpacing its competitor, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5060 Ti, which secured just 3,500 votes. While the 5060 Ti is known for its superior performance, the RX 9060 XT shines in terms of value.
Priced at an official MSRP of $349, the Radeon RX 9060 XT offers impressive performance for its cost. Although its ray-tracing capabilities fall short of Nvidia’s offerings, its traditional rendering prowess makes it a strong contender against the $429 RTX 5060 Ti (16 GB). Meanwhile, the Intel Arc B580, priced at $250, also gained attention, ranking third with over 1,700 votes.
Interestingly, GPUs equipped with only 8 GB of VRAM are struggling in popularity. Both 8 GB versions of the RX 9060 XT and the 5060 Ti barely surpassed the 3% mark in the poll. Similarly, the Nvidia RTX 5050 (8 GB), priced close to the Arc B580 (12 GB), also faltered, highlighting that in 2025, 8 GB of VRAM just doesn’t cut it anymore.
