Amazon appears to be preparing three new Fire tablets, including a possible Fire Max 11 successor
Amazon may be getting ready to refresh its Fire tablet lineup with three new models, and one of them could be the long-awaited successor to the Fire Max 11. The original Fire Max 11 launched in 2023 as Amazon’s largest and most premium Fire tablet, but it has recently become unavailable through Amazon’s own store, suggesting that a replacement may be close.
Fresh certification and import records have revealed details about three unreleased Amazon tablets. While the final product names have not been confirmed, the specifications point to a meaningful upgrade for Amazon’s budget-friendly tablet family, especially for users who want better performance, more memory, and higher storage options.
One of the upcoming devices carries the model number TR24E7 and is believed to be a second-generation Fire Max 11. It is expected to feature the MediaTek MT8189 processor, also known as the Kompanio 540. This 6nm chip includes two Cortex-A78 performance cores running at up to 2.60GHz and six Cortex-A55 efficiency cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz. Graphics are handled by a Mali-G57 MC2 GPU.
While this processor is not a massive leap over the MediaTek MT8188J used in the first Fire Max 11, the real upgrade could come from memory. The rumored TR24E7 model is listed with 8GB of RAM, doubling the 4GB found in the original Fire Max 11. It is also said to include 64GB of internal storage. If accurate, this should make the tablet feel smoother when multitasking, switching between apps, streaming media, browsing the web, or using productivity tools.
A second Amazon tablet, listed under the model number SP24NE, may be even more interesting. This model reportedly uses an unreleased MediaTek MT8793 processor and could arrive in a high-end configuration with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. That would be the largest amount of RAM ever offered in an Amazon Fire tablet.
There also appears to be another version of the same model with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Because the Fire Max 11 is currently Amazon’s flagship tablet, this higher-spec model may actually turn out to be the true Fire Max 11 2nd generation. However, it is also possible that Amazon is preparing an entirely new premium Fire tablet positioned above the current Max series.
The third device has the model number RL3YT5 and is also listed with the MediaTek MT8189 processor. This model reportedly includes 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Based on those specs, it may be a more affordable Fire tablet designed for everyday entertainment, reading, video streaming, online shopping, and light app usage.
Amazon has not officially announced these tablets yet, so the exact names, prices, display sizes, launch dates, and final configurations remain unknown. Still, the appearance of multiple models in certification and import records strongly suggests that Amazon is preparing a new wave of Fire tablets.
If these details are accurate, the next Fire tablet lineup could be one of Amazon’s most important upgrades in years. A new Fire Max 11 with more RAM would make sense for users who want a larger screen for streaming, reading, video calls, note-taking, and light productivity. Meanwhile, a 16GB RAM model would mark a major shift for Amazon’s tablet strategy and could help the company compete more aggressively in the affordable Android tablet market.
For now, the biggest takeaway is clear: Amazon has at least three new Fire tablets in development, and one of them could bring the most powerful hardware ever seen in the Fire tablet series.
