Amazfit’s Budget Smartwatches Are About to Get a Wave of Exciting New Features

Zepp Health is preparing a wave of software updates that could make several budget-friendly Amazfit smartwatches feel noticeably more capable. Alongside a recap of features that have already rolled out, the company has shared a forward-looking update roadmap covering a wide range of models, including some that have been on the market for a while.

One of the big takeaways is that the Amazfit Balance isn’t being left behind. A set of meaningful additions is on the way, starting with BioCharge support expected to arrive this month. Zepp Health also plans to add Helio Strap support, plus integrations aimed at serious training and performance tracking. Those include compatibility with TrainingPeaks and Intervals.icu, as well as planned support for Stryd—features that can appeal to runners and athletes who rely on structured training plans and deeper data.

The rugged Amazfit T-Rex 3 is also confirmed to be getting new features, although Zepp Health hasn’t yet shared specifics. For the Amazfit Active 3 Premium, a workout calendar is expected later this month, with other improvements also in the pipeline.

Beyond individual models, Zepp Health is targeting broader platform upgrades across the Amazfit lineup. The Zepp OS 6 update is scheduled to land this month, which should help unify and improve the overall smartwatch experience. Zepp Flow is also slated to receive enhancements, including upgrades intended to enable more helpful and smarter responses to user questions, with mention of improved interactions tied to Launcher 2.0.

Training features appear to be a major focus of these upcoming updates. Zepp Health is emphasizing deeper analysis tools, with planned additions such as displaying or calculating exhaustion levels and lactate threshold. The company also suggests users can expect expanded workout options, though exact timelines for when every feature will arrive on each watch haven’t been fully detailed yet.

For anyone shopping for an affordable Amazfit smartwatch—or already using one—this roadmap is a strong sign that Zepp Health is continuing to invest in software improvements that can extend the value of existing devices, especially for fitness and training-focused users.
