Amazfit Balance and Cheetah Smartwatches Get New Features With Latest Software Update
Zepp Health has started rolling out a fresh software update for select Amazfit smartwatches, bringing useful new tools for workouts, navigation, and everyday convenience. The update, firmware version 6.2.104.6, is now arriving for the Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra, Amazfit Balance 3, and Amazfit Balance Ultra.
One of the most eye-catching additions is the ability to use the smartwatch as a Bluetooth speaker. This means users can play audio directly through the watch’s built-in speaker when connected to a compatible device. While a smartwatch speaker is not designed to replace a dedicated portable speaker, the feature can still be handy for quick audio playback, voice prompts, or casual use when you do not have another speaker nearby.
The update also adds a new map orientation mode, improving the navigation experience for users who rely on their Amazfit smartwatch during runs, hikes, cycling sessions, or outdoor exploration. With better map handling, users should find it easier to understand their direction and follow routes more naturally.
Another notable feature is automatic dive detection. This is especially useful for models equipped with a pressure sensor, as the watch can recognize underwater activity by detecting rapid pressure changes. Since diving involves a quick shift in depth with relatively little horizontal movement, the smartwatch can identify the activity more accurately and begin tracking it with less manual input.
Fitness tracking also receives an upgrade. Zepp Health has improved the lactate threshold calculation algorithm, giving runners a more precise training metric. Lactate threshold is an important performance indicator for endurance athletes, helping users better understand how hard they can train before fatigue builds rapidly. With a more accurate estimate, runners can plan workouts, pace themselves, and monitor progress more effectively.
The firmware update also includes several interface improvements. Among them is a redesigned visual experience when users reach a destination during map navigation. These smaller refinements can make the smartwatch feel smoother, clearer, and more polished during daily use.
Overall, firmware version 6.2.104.6 gives the Amazfit Cheetah 2 Ultra, Amazfit Balance 3, and Amazfit Balance Ultra a practical boost. With Bluetooth speaker support, improved navigation, automatic dive detection, better running metrics, and refreshed interface elements, the update makes these Amazfit smartwatches more capable for both fitness-focused users and those who want smarter everyday features on their wrist.
