Amazfit Helio Strap Update Enhances Sleep Tracking for Better Nightly Insights

Amazfit has started rolling out a fresh firmware update for its Helio Strap, and if you rely on the wearable for sleep insights, this release is aimed directly at you. Firmware version 3.13.0.1 arrives roughly a month after the previous update (v 3.11.0.1), continuing the company’s push to refine how the Helio Strap recognizes and logs sleep.

According to the update notes, version 3.13.0.1 improves the sleep tracking algorithm to deliver more accurate sleep detection. That’s welcome news for anyone who uses the Helio Strap to monitor nightly rest, recovery, and readiness. Still, early feedback suggests the experience may not be perfect for everyone yet. Some users report that naps can still be missed, and periods of sitting still may sometimes be mistaken for sleep or logged incorrectly, indicating that sleep detection and nap tracking remain a work in progress for certain wearers.

The update isn’t only about sleep, either. Amazfit also says it has optimized Pickleball Mode, adding extra stats that should appeal to players who want deeper performance breakdowns. New metrics include Forehand Stroke Count and Backhand Stroke Count, giving Helio Strap owners more sport-specific data during sessions.

Alongside the listed improvements, some users have noticed changes after installing firmware v 3.13.0.1 that could impact how recovery metrics look day to day. Reports mention heart rate variability (HRV) readings dropping below 20 ms and BioCharge scores appearing lower than before the update. It’s not yet clear whether these shifts reflect improved measurement accuracy, changes in the underlying calculations, or potential quirks that may be smoothed out in future releases.

Amazfit also notes that the update includes minor bug fixes and general system stability improvements, which can help overall reliability even if the changes aren’t always visible.

Firmware version 3.13.0.1 is rolling out gradually in phases and may take time to reach every region. Once it’s available in your area, you can install it through the Zepp smartphone app.
