HMD Global is gearing up to launch the HMD Bold, a new budget-friendly smartphone in India. Expected to hit the market in the fourth quarter, this phone promises to be an economical option packed with some impressive features.
The HMD Bold will feature a 6.74-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz, ensuring smooth visuals for users. At its core, it houses a Unisoc T7200 chipset, known for its efficiency with two Cortex-A75 cores and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.6GHz, alongside a Mali G57 GPU.
Potential buyers can choose between two variants: one with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage, and another with 6GB RAM and 256GB of storage. Photography enthusiasts might appreciate the device’s camera setup, which includes a 50MP primary sensor on the back and a modest 8MP front-facing camera.
Battery life looks promising with a robust 5,000mAh capacity that supports 20W charging, keeping downtime to a minimum. The HMD Bold will be available in striking Blue and Brown options. Its pricing is competitive, with the base model priced at ₹7,999 (around $94), and the higher storage version at ₹9,999 (approximately $117).
Although the HMD Bold is expected to provide a more affordable alternative to the existing HMD Crest 5G, it will enter a competitive field, facing off against rivals like the Redmi A5 4G. With its blend of affordability and features, the HMD Bold is setting its sights on capturing the budget segment in India.
