Acer Sospiro A15 Debuts With Rear Display, 120Hz Screen, Android 16, and 5,000mAh Battery
Acer has introduced the Sospiro A15, a new budget-friendly smartphone aimed at the Latin American market. The device stands out from many entry-level Android phones thanks to one eye-catching feature: a secondary display on the back.
The Acer Sospiro A15 includes a 1.88-inch TFT rear screen with a 240 x 284 pixel resolution. While small, this extra display adds useful functionality. It can show notifications, offer quick music controls, and even work as a viewfinder when taking selfies with the rear camera. For users who enjoy practical extras, this rear display gives the phone a more distinctive feel compared to typical budget smartphones.
On the front, the Sospiro A15 features a 6.67-inch IPS display with a 1,600 x 720 pixel resolution. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, which should make scrolling, animations, and general navigation feel smoother. While the resolution is modest, the high refresh rate is a welcome addition in this category.
Performance is handled by the Unisoc T615 chipset. This is an entry-level processor, so the phone is designed more for everyday tasks such as messaging, browsing, social media, streaming, and light app usage rather than demanding gaming or heavy multitasking. The chipset does not include 5G support, meaning the Sospiro A15 is limited to 4G connectivity.
The device comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Users who need more space for photos, videos, apps, and files can expand storage by up to 1TB using a microSD card, which is a useful feature for buyers who prefer not to rely heavily on cloud storage.
For photography, the Acer Sospiro A15 is equipped with a 64MP rear camera. The rear display can help users frame shots when using this main camera for selfies or videos, potentially improving image quality compared to the front-facing camera. On the front, the phone includes a 16MP selfie camera for video calls and everyday photos.
Battery life should be one of the phone’s stronger points. The Sospiro A15 packs a 5,000mAh battery, which is a common capacity for modern Android phones and should be enough for a full day of typical use. Charging is handled through a USB-C port with support for 18W wired charging.
The phone runs Android 16 out of the box, giving users access to Google’s latest Android features and interface improvements. Other useful features include NFC support for contactless payments, a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio, a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and IP64 dust and water resistance.
In terms of design, the Acer Sospiro A15 measures 8.35mm thick and weighs 206 grams. It will be available in two color options: orange and blue. The bright color choices, rear display, and large screen give the device a more modern appearance despite its entry-level hardware.
Acer has not yet confirmed the official price of the Sospiro A15. However, with its Unisoc processor, 4G connectivity, expandable storage, 120Hz display, Android 16 software, and rear screen, the phone appears positioned as an affordable smartphone for users who want practical features with a bit of extra style.
