Acer Introduces AR Vision GR0 and GI0 AI Glasses for Virtual Displays and Smart Assistance
Acer is expanding its wearable tech lineup with two new pairs of smart glasses aimed at very different users. The Acer AR Vision GR0 is designed for people who want a portable big-screen viewing experience, while the Acer GI0 AI focuses on hands-free artificial intelligence features, mobile connectivity, translation, and voice recording.
Both models are planned for launch across North America, Europe, and Australia, giving Acer a stronger presence in the growing smart glasses and augmented reality market.
The Acer AR Vision GR0 turns compatible devices into a massive virtual screen
The Acer AR Vision GR0 is built for users who want a private, immersive display without carrying a monitor or relying on a TV. The glasses connect through a wired connection to supported smartphones, laptops, handheld gaming devices, or other products with display output.
Once connected, the AR Vision GR0 creates a virtual screen that can appear as large as 172 inches. That makes it suitable for gaming, streaming movies, watching videos, or even working on documents and presentations while traveling.
Acer has equipped the glasses with dual micro-OLED displays. In 2D mode, the display resolution is 1920 × 1080, while 3D mode supports a combined 3840 × 1080 resolution. The displays also offer a 60Hz refresh rate, DCI-P3 color coverage, 24-bit color, a 50,000:1 contrast ratio, and up to 200 nits of brightness.
The glasses support both 2D and 3D content, giving users more flexibility depending on the type of media or application they are using.
For everyday convenience, the AR Vision GR0 includes touch controls for adjusting brightness and volume. It also comes with built-in stereo speakers, a detachable light shield, and optional magnetic lenses for users with myopia. The glasses have an interpupillary distance of 64mm and weigh 69 grams.
Compatibility includes Android, iOS, and Windows devices, making the AR Vision GR0 a versatile option for users across different platforms.
Acer GI0 AI glasses bring Gemini-powered features to your face
The second new model, the Acer GI0 AI, takes a different approach. Instead of focusing on a large virtual screen, these glasses are built around smart assistant features powered by Gemini.
With the GI0 AI glasses, users can ask questions, get directions, analyze images, translate conversations instantly, and record voice notes. The voice recording feature could be especially useful during meetings, interviews, lectures, or quick reminders while on the go.
The glasses include a 12MP camera with a 3024 × 4032 image resolution. Video recording is supported at 1080p and 30 frames per second. Acer has also included 32GB of eMMC storage, stereo speakers, three microphones, Bluetooth 5.0, and Wi-Fi 5.
Power comes from a 217mAh battery, though Acer has not yet confirmed expected battery life. The glasses support 5W charging through a 5V/1A input.
The GI0 AI glasses work with Acer’s AspireSync companion app and can connect to Android phones running Android 12 or newer, as well as iPhones running iOS 15 or newer. They are also lighter than the AR model, weighing 46 grams for the frames only.
Pricing and availability
The Acer AR Vision GR0 is priced at $499.99 in the United States, €599 in Europe, and AUD 999 in Australia.
The Acer GI0 AI is more affordable, with pricing set at $299.99 in the United States, €399 in Europe, and AUD 599 in Australia.
Acer has not confirmed a North American release date yet. In Europe, both pairs of glasses are expected to arrive in the fourth quarter of 2026. Australia is scheduled to receive them earlier, with availability planned for the third quarter of 2026.
Acer’s new glasses target two fast-growing categories
With these two launches, Acer is clearly targeting two different parts of the wearable technology market. The AR Vision GR0 is aimed at users who want a portable entertainment and productivity display, while the GI0 AI is focused on everyday smart assistance, camera features, translation, and voice interaction.
As interest in augmented reality glasses and AI-powered wearables continues to rise, Acer’s new lineup could appeal to gamers, travelers, remote workers, students, and anyone looking for a more hands-free way to interact with digital content.
