A Step Behind the RTX 4060 in 1080P Performance

Inno3D has unveiled the performance benchmarks for NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB GPU, revealing that it lags slightly behind the RTX 4060 in 1080p gaming tests.

With the recent launch of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5050 8 GB GPU, some models are already appearing in stores. While we haven’t seen in-depth reviews yet, Inno3D has provided initial benchmarks to give gamers a glimpse into this entry-level card, priced at $249.

Synthetic performance comparisons show the RTX 5050 performing on par with or slightly ahead of the RTX 4060 in tests like Steel Nomad, Port Royal, and Fire Strike. However, it falls a bit behind in benchmarks such as Speed Way and Time Spy.

In gaming scenarios, the card was evaluated with titles like Borderlands 3, Far Cry 6, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. Here, the RTX 5050 outperformed the RTX 3060 by up to 18.5% but struggled to outpace the GeForce RTX 4060, only matching its performance in Far Cry 6.

The Inno3D GeForce RTX 5050, featuring a dual-fan design, maintained clock speeds up to 2.6 GHz with temperatures peaking at 65°C for the GPU. It consumes 130W of power, its maximum limit.

Currently, the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8 GB is priced between $299-$329, aligning with the RTX 5060 8 GB. For just $50 more, the 5060 offers better value, and the RX 9060 XT 8 GB provides an even greater upgrade. Considering alternatives, the Intel Arc B580 12 GB and B570 10 GB are excellent budget options for under $250. For the RTX 5050 to be a wise investment, its price would need to drop to around $199.
