8BitDo is giving retro fans an easier way to add a pop of classic Nintendo-style color to their Bluetooth wireless controllers—without having to buy a specific special-edition model first.
Until now, anyone who wanted the familiar colorful Start and A/B (and C) button look often had to choose the Classic Grey version to get those recreated parts. That changes with the new 8BitDo Classic Button Set, now available directly from 8BitDo for $3.99.
The kit is designed as a simple controller refresh and customization option, and it comes with a full mix of iconic color accents and key replacements:
1x A button (Blue)
1x B button (Green)
4x C buttons (Yellow)
1x D-pad (Grey)
1x Start button (Red)
1x Joystick rubber replacement (Grey)
There are a couple of important purchase details for US buyers. 8BitDo says the Classic Button Set does not include a warranty in the United States, and it also cannot be returned in the US. If you’re considering it, it’s best to be sure you want the set before placing an order.
As of now, 8BitDo hasn’t confirmed pricing or availability for other regions, and it’s also unclear whether the Classic Button Set will be sold through Amazon or remain exclusive to the company’s own store.
