8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro Pre-Orders Get a Fresh Launch Window

8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro pre-orders are now expected to open in October

8BitDo’s Arcade Controller Pro is finally getting closer to launch, though fans still have a few unanswered questions. The premium arcade controller was first announced in June, with the company originally pointing to a September pre-order window. That date came and went without availability, but 8BitDo has now updated the product page with a new timeframe: pre-orders are expected to begin in October.

The exact pre-order date has not been confirmed yet, and 8BitDo still has not revealed the official global price or final release date. That means players interested in the controller will need to keep waiting a little longer before they can secure one.

The 8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro is designed as the next step up from the company’s previous arcade controller. It features a more compact body, a refreshed button layout, and a built-in 1.47-inch display. That small screen is one of its most useful upgrades, allowing players to adjust settings directly on the controller without relying on a mobile app or desktop software.

Another notable addition is the magnetic wrist rest, which should make longer fighting game sessions more comfortable. For arcade stick fans, comfort and customization can be just as important as responsiveness, so these updates could make the Pro model appealing to players who want a cleaner, more flexible setup.

The controller will be offered in two color options: White and N Edition. While the design already appears finalized, the international rollout is still unclear. Based on how 8BitDo often handles product launches, pre-orders may open first, followed by the actual release several weeks later. That means even if pre-orders begin in October, the controller may not ship immediately.

Interestingly, the 8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro is already being sold in China, where it is priced at CNY 699, which converts to roughly $104 or €93. Buyers in China also receive a free hard-shell case, though it is not known whether the same bonus will be offered in other markets.

If the Chinese pricing is any indication, the global version could launch at around $119 or higher. However, this remains only an estimate until 8BitDo officially confirms pricing for international buyers.

The Arcade Controller Pro arrives at a time when interest in leverless arcade controllers and premium fighting game accessories continues to grow. Competitive players are increasingly looking for compact, customizable controllers with fast inputs, reliable build quality, and convenient on-device controls. With its display, magnetic wrist rest, and streamlined design, 8BitDo’s upcoming controller could be a strong option in that space.

For now, the main takeaway is simple: the 8BitDo Arcade Controller Pro is no longer expected in September, but pre-orders are now planned for October. Pricing, shipping dates, and regional availability are still pending, so fans will have to wait for 8BitDo’s next official update before making a final buying decision.
