ZOTAC is under heavy fire from PC gamers and graphics card shoppers after reports claimed the company canceled multiple RTX 50-series GPU orders, only for the same models to show up again shortly afterward with noticeably higher prices.
According to a post shared by a Reddit user, several customers who successfully placed orders for ZOTAC GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards later received cancellation emails despite their purchases appearing to go through normally at checkout. In the message, ZOTAC reportedly blamed the cancellations on a “system error,” confirmed that customers would receive a full refund back to the original payment method, and suggested buyers could place the order again once the problem was resolved.
What sparked the most backlash wasn’t just the cancellations, but what happened next. Soon after the emails went out, shoppers reported seeing the same RTX 50-series cards relisted on ZOTAC’s store at significantly higher prices. The largest increases were said to hit the RTX 5090 range, with some listings allegedly jumping by several hundred dollars. Examples shared in the reports include price changes roughly in the range of $2,299 to $2,799, $2,399 to $2,899, and $2,449 to nearly $2,999. The RTX 5080 lineup was also mentioned as seeing an increase of around $250.
Adding to the confusion, the ZOTAC Store website is currently listed as being under maintenance, leaving customers with questions about when the store will return and whether the company will address the controversy directly. The situation is also drawing comparisons to a recent incident in the PC hardware space where customers reported canceled orders followed by higher relisted prices, fueling concern among buyers about online order reliability during high-demand GPU launches.
For now, customers are waiting to see whether ZOTAC issues a statement, restores original pricing for affected buyers, or offers any form of compensation to rebuild trust.
