Warframe Cross-Platform Save Feature Brings Unity to Gamers Across Platforms

Warframe, the free-to-play third-person MMO shooter, has evolved significantly since its debut ten years ago. A major advancement for the game is the introduction of cross-platform save functionality. This new feature, which arrived on January 30, 2024, allows players to share progression and save-game data across different gaming platforms.

Cross-platform saves in Warframe are available in two distinct forms: Merging or Linking. For those with accounts predating the cutoff time of 2 p.m. Eastern Time on November 24, the One-Time Account Merge option is available, enabling them to combine their accounts into one. During this merge, players choose a Primary Account to retain its progression, while the items, customizations, resources, and currencies from all accounts are compiled into one single account.

Alternatively, Linking is designed for accounts created after the November 24th deadline or for players who prefer this method. Linking permanently designates a Primary Account, and while it allows the player to use their progression, items, customizations, resources, and currencies across linked platforms, it does discard these aspects from all other accounts involved in the process.

Players interested in utilizing this feature must log in to the Warframe website and click on the “Connect Accounts” button to initiate the process. This new functionality is particularly beneficial for those playing on handheld gaming devices like the Asus ROG Ally or the Lenovo Legion Go, demonstrating Warframe’s adaptability to different hardware specifications.

Fans of Warframe are now able to enjoy seamless gameplay and continue their in-game progression whether they are at home on a PC or on the move with their handheld console. This marks a significant milestone in the game’s ongoing development and the ever-evolving landscape of cross-platform gaming.
