Vivo Unveils Budget Smartphone Packing a Huge 8,100mAh Battery

Vivo Y500 4G Launched With Huge 8,100mAh Battery, AMOLED Display, and Android 16

Vivo has introduced its new Vivo Y500 4G smartphone in Nepal and Pakistan, bringing a massive battery, bright AMOLED display, and modern software to the affordable smartphone segment. The launch follows the earlier debut of the Vivo Y500 5G in China, but for global markets, Vivo has chosen to release the 4G version first.

The Vivo Y500 4G is clearly built for users who want long battery life without spending flagship-level money. Its biggest highlight is the enormous 8,100mAh battery, which should easily appeal to heavy users, gamers, travelers, and anyone who dislikes charging their phone multiple times a day. The device supports 44W wired charging, giving it a practical balance between battery size and charging speed.

For comparison, the Chinese Vivo Y500 5G model comes with a slightly larger 8,200mAh battery and faster 90W charging. However, the global Vivo Y500 4G still stands out strongly in its price category thanks to its unusually large battery capacity.

On the front, the Vivo Y500 4G features a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a sharp 2800 x 1260 pixel resolution. The screen also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, making scrolling, gaming, and everyday navigation feel smoother. Vivo has also equipped the display with up to 5,000 nits of peak brightness, which should help improve visibility under bright outdoor lighting.

Powering the smartphone is the Unisoc T7300 chipset, paired with 8GB of RAM. Buyers can choose between 128GB and 256GB of internal storage. However, the phone does not include expandable storage, so users who save a lot of photos, videos, apps, or games may want to consider the higher storage variant.

The Vivo Y500 4G runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6 out of the box, making it one of the newer affordable phones to ship with the latest Android software. Vivo has not yet confirmed how many major Android updates or security patches the device will receive.

For cameras, the smartphone includes a dual rear camera setup. The main sensor is a 50MP camera, while the second rear camera is a 2MP sensor. On the front, the device carries a 32MP selfie camera for video calls, selfies, and social media content.

The Vivo Y500 4G is available in two color options: Midnight Blue and Pearl White. In Nepal, the base model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at NR 54,999, which is around $361. The 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant costs NR 61,999, roughly $407.

With its massive 8,100mAh battery, bright AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, Android 16 software, and 50MP main camera, the Vivo Y500 4G is positioned as a strong option for buyers looking for a dependable mid-range smartphone with excellent endurance. It remains unclear whether Vivo will eventually bring the 5G version to more global markets, though reports suggest it could arrive in selected regions under Vivo’s T-series lineup.
