Seeking to reverse this trend, Verizon is offering a $500 incentive to former customers who switched to T-Mobile, trying to tempt them back. A Reddit post by one former Verizon customer, now with T-Mobile, highlighted this offer, received multiple times over a two-week span. A Verizon representative clarified that the $500 would come in the form of bill credits spread over 36 months, amounting to about $14 per month.

The former Verizon user humorously noted that this deal wasn’t compelling enough to win them back, despite being told about the potential for a free new line with the purchase of a phone. Many like-minded T-Mobile customers commented that even a $1000 offer wouldn’t be tempting due to subpar customer service experiences and aggressive sales tactics from Verizon. Although it seems unlikely that current T-Mobile users will switch for a relatively small incentive, some may consider the move, especially with recent frustrations over T-Mobile’s price hikes for certain plans and the push for T-Life adoption.

Besides the financial incentive, Verizon is trying to sweeten the deal by offering four free iPhone 16 units to those who make the switch. They are also critiquing T-Mobile for not adhering to its promised price lock guarantees. Whether these efforts will succeed in winning back customers remains to be seen, but the timing is crucial, especially as T-Mobile faces backlash over its pricing strategies.
