This app offers valuable features, allowing users to fine-tune various settings to optimize their gaming experience. A core functionality of Game Booster is its ability to manage device performance and extend battery life effectively, which is achieved by monitoring the phone’s temperatures and usage using Samsung’s Game Optimization Service (GOS).
Although Game Booster’s automatic optimization function suits the needs of most users by balancing performance with temperature and battery conservation, it can sometimes limit a device’s abilities in some graphically-intensive games. It achieves this by regulating the CPU and GPU’s speed, which helps manage resource consumption.
In the past, the Game Optimization Service faced some user backlash when it was discovered that, unlike in typical games, GOS was not limiting performance in benchmarking applications. This led Samsung to introduce a less stringent performance management option within the Game Booster app, allowing for prolonged periods of high frame rates during gameplay.
More recently, players of the widely popular game Genshin Impact on the Galaxy S24 series reported a specific issue: the game’s frame rate remained unaffected whether the GOS was active or not. Addressing this concern, Samsung swiftly responded and rolled out an update for the Game Booster app that rectifies the problem, improving the gaming experience for Genshin Impact enthusiasts.
As of now, the latest Game Booster app update has been released and can be found on the Galaxy Store. Although availability is currently somewhat limited, a broader rollout is expected imminently. Galaxy S24 users, including those with S24+ and S24 Ultra models, may need to update their smartphone’s firmware to access the new Game Booster features.
With these updates, Samsung aims to ensure that their Galaxy S24 series owners can enjoy Genshin Impact and other demanding games with the high performance and stability they expect from top-of-the-line devices.
