Ugreen, a prominent name in the power bank industry, is offering a compelling trade-in program in response to new regulations in China that affect power banks on flights. This initiative targets customers who have purchased Ugreen power banks lacking the essential 3C certification, which is now mandatory for local flights in China as of a 2023 ruling.
The trade-in program is an opportunity for users to upgrade their non-compliant power banks to models that meet the new standards. Those who bought a power bank without a 3C logo after August 1, 2023, can now exchange it and receive up to a 50% refund, which could be as much as CNY500 ($70 or €59). Ugreen is facilitating this swap until August 5, 2025, allowing customers to choose from three new models – PB509, PB561, and PB721 – all of which carry the necessary 3C certification, ensuring they’re safe for flight travel.
Ugreen also reassures customers that while the older power banks might lack the 3C logo, they were designed to adhere to safety standards in place at their time of production. This strategic move not only aligns with regulatory compliance but also emphasizes Ugreen’s commitment to customer satisfaction and safety.
For tech enthusiasts seeking reliability, this program is a great chance to secure a safe and certified power bank, particularly for those who frequently travel.
