Team Group Unveils Elite and Elite Plus DDR5-8000 Memory Kits Running at Just 1.1V
Team Group is pushing DDR5 efficiency forward with the launch of two new high-speed memory lines: the Elite DDR5 and Elite Plus DDR5 kits. The standout feature is clear: both memory kits are rated for speeds of up to 8000 MT/s while operating at only 1.1V, the standard DDR5 voltage defined by JEDEC.
That is a notable achievement in the current DDR5 market. While DDR5-8000 memory is no longer rare among enthusiast PC builders, most high-frequency kits typically require much higher voltages, often around 1.35V to 1.4V. By reaching 8000 MT/s at just 1.1V, Team Group is targeting users who want fast memory performance without the added power draw and heat that usually come with extreme-speed RAM.
The new Elite and Elite Plus DDR5-8000 modules are designed to deliver a balance of speed, efficiency, and stability. According to Team Group, the memory kits offer improved signal integrity compared to conventional high-frequency DDR5 modules. This should help maintain stable performance under real-world workloads, not just short benchmark runs.
The kits use timings of CL56-56-56-128. While those timings are relatively loose compared with some enthusiast-grade overclocking memory, the lower operating voltage gives these modules a different advantage. Lower voltage can help improve power efficiency, reduce thermal output, and potentially support longer-term reliability, especially in systems used for daily productivity, study, entertainment, and general desktop computing.
Team Group appears to be positioning these kits for users who want high DDR5 bandwidth without manually tuning voltage settings or dealing with the heat output associated with many performance memory kits. For modern desktop PCs, faster memory can help with multitasking, content creation, gaming, browser-heavy workflows, and other memory-sensitive applications, depending on the platform and processor.
Both the Team Group Elite DDR5-8000 and Elite Plus DDR5-8000 memory kits will initially be available in 32GB configurations, using two 16GB modules. Higher-capacity versions are expected to arrive later, although the company has not yet confirmed the exact capacities or release schedule for those models.
The 2x16GB DDR5-8000 kits are expected to become available in North America starting in June 2026. Wider availability in other regions may follow afterward.
With these new Elite and Elite Plus DDR5 modules, Team Group is aiming to make high-speed DDR5 memory more efficient and accessible. Running at 8000 MT/s while staying at 1.1V could make these kits appealing for PC builders who want strong memory performance without the typical increase in voltage, heat, and power consumption.
