TCL Unveils Designer Series A300L and A400U TVs with Artful Displays and Premium Picture Tech

TCL has introduced its new Designer Series A300L QLED and A400U QD-Mini LED 4K TVs at IFA 2026 in Berlin, aiming to bring a more stylish, art-inspired approach to the modern living room. These televisions are designed for shoppers who want a premium entertainment screen that can also blend naturally into home décor when it is not being used.

Both models feature a slim, flush-mount design that helps the TV sit close to the wall, creating a gallery-like appearance. Instead of becoming a blank black screen when idle, the A300L and A400U can display artwork or personal photos. TCL includes a curated art library and a photo gallery mode, allowing users to showcase famous paintings, family pictures, or decorative visuals that match the room’s style.

The TCL Designer Series A300L is available in 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch, and 85-inch screen sizes. The A400U offers those same size options while also adding a massive 98-inch version for larger spaces, home theaters, or statement walls.

Both TVs run on Google TV, giving users access to a wide range of streaming apps and services. That includes popular platforms such as YouTube TV, making the Designer Series suitable for cord-cutters, movie fans, sports viewers, and anyone who wants a smart TV experience with broad app compatibility.

The A300L uses a QLED panel and supports 4K resolution with a 144Hz refresh rate, making it a strong option for smooth motion in movies, live sports, and gaming. It also features HDR Pro+ and supports major high dynamic range formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG. This combination is designed to deliver improved brightness, color, and contrast for a more vivid viewing experience.

For audio, the A300L includes dual 20-watt stereo speakers. It also supports Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital+, and Dolby Digital, helping create a more immersive soundstage when watching compatible movies, shows, and games.

Connectivity on the A300L includes four HDMI inputs, with one supporting eARC for simplified soundbar or home theater connections. It also includes one USB 3.0 port, one USB 2.0 port, and an Ethernet input for wired internet access.

A key part of the A300L’s appeal is its décor-focused design. TCL has equipped the display with an ultra-matte anti-glare screen to reduce reflections and help artwork look more natural when displayed. The TV also comes with off-white and light-wood frame bezels, giving buyers more flexibility when matching the screen to their room. Additional Laredo Factory Frames can also be ordered for further customization, especially when the TV is installed flush against a wall.

The A400U builds on the same design-first concept but upgrades the display technology to QD-Mini LED. This model includes Local Dimming Pro+ and TCL’s Halo Control System, technologies intended to reduce blooming and halo effects around bright objects on dark backgrounds. That should make the A400U especially appealing for viewers who watch a lot of movies, premium streaming content, or HDR video in dimly lit rooms.

Like the A300L, the A400U supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10, and HLG, along with 4K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. However, its built-in speaker setup is different, using dual 10-watt stereo speakers. Audio format support includes Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital+, Dolby Digital, and DTS:X.

With the Designer Series A300L and A400U, TCL is clearly targeting buyers who want more than a traditional smart TV. These models combine 4K 144Hz performance, premium HDR support, Google TV, and art-display features with a wall-friendly design made to complement interior spaces.

For homeowners looking for a TV that doubles as a décor element, the TCL A300L and A400U could be attractive options. The A300L offers a QLED experience with customizable frame choices, while the A400U steps up to QD-Mini LED technology and adds a large 98-inch size for those who want a more cinematic centerpiece.
