TCL Unveils an Enhanced T7 Pro SQD Mini-LED TV with Next-Level Picture Performance

TCL has introduced its new T7M Pro SQD-Mini LED TV lineup in China, expanding its premium big-screen options with four sizes: 65-inch, 75-inch, 85-inch, and a massive 98-inch model. Positioned as a step up from the brand’s earlier T7L Pro QD-Mini LED TV released in 2025 (alongside the more affordable T7L), the T7M Pro focuses on smoother motion, richer color performance, and more precise backlight control for a sharper, more cinematic 4K viewing experience.

Built around a native 4K resolution, the TCL T7M Pro delivers a native 150Hz refresh rate designed for fast-paced content like sports and gaming. TCL also promotes an enhanced 300Hz mode, aimed at further improving motion clarity under certain conditions. For buyers comparing 4K 150Hz TVs and newer high refresh rate televisions, this model is clearly targeting viewers who want fluid movement without sacrificing detail.

One of the biggest headline upgrades is TCL’s new Super Butterfly Wing Star Display, which the company says improves color accuracy and overall picture quality. The T7M Pro is rated to cover 100% of the BT.2020 color gamut, a notable jump over the previous model’s 79% coverage. For consumers searching for wide color gamut TVs or Mini LED TVs with better color performance, this suggests more vibrant hues, improved gradation, and stronger HDR impact—especially in content mastered with expanded color standards.

The Mini LED backlight system also gets a boost. TCL increased the number of local dimming zones, with the 98-inch version offering 1,152 zones. That’s up from the 1,056 zones found on the prior generation, helping the TV better control brightness and shadows across different parts of the screen. Even with the upgraded dimming, the peak brightness remains listed at 2,200 nits (XDR), which should still be strong enough for HDR highlights, specular reflections, and brighter viewing environments.

On the software side, the TCL T7M Pro runs the company’s Spirit Control System 3.0, which acts as the hub for streaming apps and entertainment features. TCL is also emphasizing audio, equipping the TV with built-in 2.1.2-channel Onkyo speakers, a setup that aims to deliver clearer dialogue, fuller bass, and more immersive height effects without immediately requiring an external sound system.

Connectivity is another area where the T7M Pro checks the right boxes for modern home setups. It includes four HDMI 2.1 inputs, appealing to buyers who want multiple high-bandwidth ports for next-gen consoles, gaming PCs, and premium streaming devices—all while keeping support for higher refresh rates and smoother performance.

Pricing in China starts at CNY 6,199 (around $900), which places the T7M Pro as a competitively priced option in the Mini LED 4K TV segment considering its size range, dimming upgrades, and wide color coverage. TCL has not confirmed if or when the T7M Pro SQD-Mini LED TV will launch in other regions, so availability outside China remains uncertain for now.
